@playerdepimp Yeah, well some of us think it's a joke when what should be routine fly balls end up ten rows deep in the stands. I'd rather have a pitcher's ballpark than a ridiculous band box.
@playerdepimp I will say though, it's a great place to watch a ballgame. Made it for the first time last September, and I was blown away. Toes that fine line between openness and intimacy almost perfectly. HUGE improvement over the Vet, at which I had the "pleasure" of seeing a game just once (and once was more than enough).
Sat opposite those seats (by far the worst seats I ever sat in) for game 7 NLCS vs. the Cards and saw the great Endy catch. For people who do not "get" it, I much rather sit in the shittiest seat then my couch. The adrenaline rush you get when there as apposed to TV is indescribable.
Under such circumstances, yes, it is fun. At the same time, yes, it is a sucky stadium. But it's OUR sucky stadium. That being said, new one coming in 2009. And yes, I will be sad to see Shea go.
It was good up there because all the die hard funs stayed up there. It was a lot of fun sitting up there during a Yankees v. Mets game or a Phillies v. Mets game.
they could have renovated it because citi field blows, i've never seen a worse field dimensions then that ever, shea all the way but go phillies!

God, Shea was freaking huge.
And coming from a diehard Met fan, that wasn't a good thing. :(
