Both parties are at fault. Clinton passed NAFTA and Glass-Steagal, Bush with his illegal wars, wiretapping, suspending Habeus Corpus. Obama has extended all these policies. Not to mention many people lost jobs where I lived almost immediately. Factories shut down etc. They didn't become so supportive of him either. Perfect example of why the voting age should be raised to 30 years old. A 20 year old stoner spending mommy and daddy's money on beer in college has no idea what they are voting for. The usage of profanity by the Obama supporters and the constant interrupting done by the Students for Liberty representative really shows, in a nutshell, the level to which political discourse has sunk. I wish more college students would take the time to read the "Opposing Viewpoints" book series. To paraphrase the "Opposing Viewpoints" motto, "He who does not fully understand his opponent's viewpoint, doesn't fully understand his own". True discourse is a matter of give-and-take.
As a Ron Paul supporter, I found the behavior of the gentleman arguing with the Obama supporters to be quite puerile and vitriolic (I was also put off by the behavior of the Obama supporters). It is this sort of hollow shouting that does not bode well for conservatives OR liberals. Discussions of political matters should be done with CIVILITY and MANNERS. As much as I dislike Obama, I found myself empathizing with them as they were being shouted down by a very childish "man". Disgraceful...
Democracy doesn't mean "elect leadership that agrees with everything I want" Shit happens. Leaders deal with it. If they don't you vote 'em out. You don't like it? Well, the world doesn't revolve around you.
