@chipmonkette the movement was basicalluy FINISHED by the end of '83 dont you agree? There were a few bands still doing the NR thing in early '84 but for the most part it had been left behind due in no small part to MTV I would say. Look what they did to Duran Duran!! Those guys were an amazing New romantic outfit!! Visage and Classix Neuveux as well

New Gold Dream is by far my brother and I's favourite song of all time. For me though, the more it is slowed down, the better. Live in the City of Lights for example. Why speed through such an enigmatic song? I can say though, this song allows great variation and I'm glad Simple Minds saw that.

This must have been one of the last concerts that the brilliant Derek Forbes played bass. Then he realised Simple Minds were going down the pan and that Jim Kerr thought he was God. So he went to see his pals down the pub instead; sensible guy.
