  • This is a "mere" video. =p

  • I say Ethanol is the much better way to go for a future car engine. Indy Car and the NHRA have been running Ethanol powered cars since the 60s!

  • ethanlol

    Ethan LOL

    lolz

  • Why do you have to have a kit for this and can you use ethanol in a regular gasoline engine without the kit? If you have this kit installed, can you use regular gasoline?

  • @ssj7warrior

With EcoFuelBox kit you can use both fuels : gasoline and ethanol E85, and you can mix them in any proportions. Which means that you can fill the tank with gasoline if there is no E85 pump at given moment. (and vice versa)

While E85 used on a regular gasoline engine, without conversion kit, usually few problems will appear :

    1. Fuel overconsumption - up to 35%

    2. "Check engine" OBD II error

    3. Very difficult engine cold start

There is no such problems with kit...

  • @ecofuelbox Thanks for the information. This helps a lot.

  • Hi Alex,

Thanks for your prompt reply :)

The last time I heard E85 cost in France was like around 0,90€ / L against 1,40€/ L for gas. Does the price of ethanol change as quick as gas price ?

  • @Matieu7615

    Hi there,

Ethanol price does not raise as gas price, because it's not mage from oil.

Recently the petrol price has raised again (and again) but E85 ethanol is same as before.

  • Hi,

I've heard that some vehicles are not compatible with e85 ethanol ?

Do I need to replace / change fuel pump ?

    Thanx

  • @Matieu7615

Fuel system and fuel pumps of all gasoline powered cars starting from year 86 are compatible with E85 ethanol. E85 ethanol will not harm or damage your car.

Even better, your car's fuel system will be "cleaned" from the inside

However, you will need to replace fuel filter, after first 1000 km driving on ethanol E85. After that a new filter will stay clean for a long time.

  • Wow ! that seems easy. I'm considering to buy one ;)

Thank you for uploading this video.
