@bkind2me2 check your state's statute of limitations. For example, Illinois is 5 years for credit card, Arkansas is 3 years and so-on. Also, moving from the state you originally had the debt in can put the clock on hold and state law varies on partial payments resetting the clock. The length of time a negative mark can stay on your credit report starts from the time you were late or the late payment went into collection, not from the last time you made a payment on the account. 7 years+180 days
