Right out of high school I worked on the set of the movie "The Moonshine War" as a food server and dishwasher. The stars ate and were served seperately from the rest of the crew (except Alan Alda). It's a testiment to Fords being an ordinary guy to see him go through the serving line with everyone else. Alan Alda was the same way. Very approachable and a genuine nice guy.

I just said thanks, and we spoke a bit, he asked a few questions about my boat. Bearing in mind we didn't actually realise it was him until he walked away. My sister was like, "You do realise that was harrison ford?" lol. :D

Ford is a really down-to-earth guy. He flew his de Havilland Beaver into my local airport (Dutchess County - POU) about 7 years ago while on a cross-country flying trip.

If you just approach him with the whole "I'm your biggest fan, give me an autograph!" attitude, he kinda scowls. But if you just start talking with him, he'll stay and chat for ages.

My co-workers at the airport chatted with him for over an hour, he even treated everyone to lunch from a local deli.

Awesome guy. Real nice.
