I remember a story a couple years ago where Minnesota mandated that all school buses have bio diesel because it was more eco friendly and they wanted to prevent global warming. Guess what happened? Im not in Europe, so its going to take 4 hours for it to charge, with the power coming from the good ol' coal fired power station. Hell yea leo keep the scientific look at how drivers are good coming. I love that stuff. I love listening to engine music and watching footwork simultaniously because it shows the complexity and refinement of how much skill is in driving. And a thought for people who freak out in cars in my opinion its simple they sit on the cars instead of in the car, meaning they don't know how to feel what a car is going to do (hello bad drivers?) for the most part yeah awesome shakedown.

That graph shows Herbert wasn't even up to Schuey's speed before the corner. Most likely Ross Brawn's GP car was the deciding factor. It's highly unlikely Schuey would have racked up as many World Champion titles if he was given a medium to sub par GP car for an given season.

JH was 1 second+ slower than Mike on a lap. IMO, because he was exiting corners slower and only catching same V-max @ end of straights.

JH was trying to make time by lenghtening the straight and braking later, but was unsettling car and slowing him.

Plus, look at steering input on that vid, more of the story.

FYI - They were teammates with the same Benetton's. But yes, you are right car tech is 70 -80% of the equation.

Trying to figure out how to compare diff driver styles. Don't get your hopes up, have no answer, yet.

But, Senna was also a 'throttle-pop' guy - always working the gas mid corner to test for / get to the cornering limit. Aggressively rough inside the car, smooth to the outside eye, and extremely fast.

Saw him live @ Monaco vs Prost [the yr he set pole by over a second, then ran away in the race only to wall it while far ahead].

THAT was where I learned about his throttle-popping.
