first time I came to England some guys told me in the bar: " go back to your country you froggy". In fact they said this as a joke. Also I was working in a company and the first day my boss shut pretended to hold the door for me then shut it just when I was coming. "there you are frenchie". He said! Very special humour for me. Later in my life I had some Australian friend and it was the same joke about french! ahhh driving me crazy! But in fact now I understand this kind of joke.

I've once been to france with some friends too, the first night in the hotel we saw a comedy film about hitler and his "sister", both played by the same actor, in one scene lightning cast a cloud over her upper lip so it looked like she had a hitler mustache too, that was funny as hell (maybe because we are germans), that was a nice impression of the french sense of humour!
