Yes...rest of the band didn't let him to, but only after 1978 when he sang his first lead vocal song. For this reason the 4 solo albums.

Before that year, Ace didn't want to sing.

Eric was good in the Revenge/Carnival of Souls era, but replacing Peter Criss as "Catman" is just wrong.

If KISS still had all its original members (or with Eric Carr if he was still alive), I would like the makeup. But with Tommy and Eric, they should go back to their looks of the Revenge era.

Ace sold his rights to the make up to Gene and Paul. He was told by Paul in 2001 that if he left, Tommy would wear his make up and Ace said Fine. Paul BEGGED Ace not to leave and he still left. Ace has left kiss twice, both times he was asked not to leave. Ace has only himself to blame for Tommy wearing his make up. It isn't "his" anyway. He SOLD IT. BLame Ace. there is no way in hell factually that it's anyone elses fault but his. It simply isn't possible.

Ive no problem with him as a player, and im not holding some kinda grudge because the current line up isnt the original one i just dont think its right to have him and Eric dressed up as ACE and Peter, it kinda makes a mokery of the whole thing. When Eric Carr and Vinnie joined KISS they had their own characters and to me that had far more credibility, The Space Ace character was designed by Ace for Ace as that suits his character. In my opinion take off the make up or design new characters.
