This song seems inspired by Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal - Where he proposes Ireland's poor escape their poverty by selling their children as food to the rich. It was political satire speaking out against the treatment of the poor and the lack of social awareness and caring of their plight. I think Otep is sending her own message with this song about the suffering of children in our modern society and our desensitization to it, but it would seem to me to be clearly inspired by this idea.

The song is about how the people in our lives just sort of say "here it is, all the fear and sorrow and anger. Deal with it."
