@jonbuho Cant say I agree at all. You have to know what you're listening to. A high gain amp will bring out a different set of characteristics in a guitar. some guitars cant play high gain stuff very well with or without actives....as a matter of fact there are tests with two different company guitars both with active picups throughthe same high gain amp on youtube and the difference is shocking.

Similar maybe but not identical. The tone will be more dependant upon the quality of the electronics, I wired in a zakk wylde set to an epiphone les paul and it sounded noway near as good as a pro job you get a lot of signal leak with sloppy joints etc..

Sorry about the tone guys it's complete chaos in the convention center noise is coming from everywhere congas in the back of us, engl amps to the left, rockabilly guitars across from us bogner at the corner it's very hard to get a good sound unless you have an enclosed booth, and I thought the guitar world crew can handle it, they sound so much better than in this vid.

@jayou812a You can get them with passive Seymour Duncans or Bare Knuckles. So if you dont like EMGs, really not a big deal.

Guys NAMM is a chaotic scene. Anyone who would judge these guitars tone from a shitty video cam mic in an loud convention environment like this is a complete tool. They sound absolutely amazing in real life or properly recorded.

This is from NAMM 2011, that means this was recorded in Anaheim California. From personal experience, actually being at this show is was about 70-75 degrees every day. Along wih the same lines as digital effects thaey are getting good but a far cry from real tone.
