i have a crown on my top left front an i always wondered what that dark ring was around my crown. Is it any way i can have the dark ring removed without having the whole crown removed
Thanks for your comment. Ususally, the inner side of the crown is made of metal. And the metal margin of the crown fits to the tooth better than the porcelain margin. On the other hand, the metal margin creates the black color around the crown at the gum line. Our dental technician uses a gold metal, so that the color may not be so obvious.
As I didn't see your crown actually, it may not be a proper advice, however, I think it will be impossible to eliminate the dark ring around your tooth unless you remove the whole crown.
