  • It's time to have a mass wolf hunting party and greatly reduce the wolves in areas where the wolves have always been and totally eliminate them in areas where they have never been. Screw the feds.

  • Wolves are coming to Chicago. (4:15)

  • Ok folks, wolves are a part of the natural ecosystem of the Lower 48... until about 100 years ago. The Cattle ranchers and other people had wolves hunted for a good reason, to protect their livelyhood. Now with the wolf reintroduction rancher and guide livelyhood is at stake. Wolves are nto all bad, they help control populations of other animals. but UNCONTORRELD populations of wolves, just like mountain lions here in CA are detrimental to not only game populations but wolf and lion populations.

  • I live in NE Wyoming, in the Black Hills. They're here; I've seen 'em so has my husband. I know of one shot while chasing horses in South Dakota in 2010. Kill 'em........kill 'em all ..........kill 'em quick or there won't be any ungulate herds left..........and ranchers will be out of business.

  • first wolf to set foot on my land is a dead one none in iowa yet

  • By approximately what year will it be when the wolf's range reaches what is shown at 4:17?

  • @CarlaVelosoWolf It is there now.

  • @Overwatch118 How can it be there now when there are no known wolf populations established in the states of Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, California, Nevada, Texas, Iowa, Nebraska, or Illinois? Granted, there have been a few individuals in some of those states (most notably California's Journey/OR7) but there are no self-sustaining populations yet in those states.

  • @CarlaVelosoWolf It is there now.

  • I am not a hunter but I understand the problem. This is another problem the Fed Gov has caused because a pointy headed elite think they know everything.

  • The northern Rockies states are destroying 80% of the wolf population at the beck and call of hunters. That is not regulation. That is annihilation. I'm pretty much done with hunting and hunters. "Conservation" my eye...

  • I despise sport hunters.

  • Smoke a pack a Day. .........useless mountain Maggots

  • every last one of them should be shot on the spot

  • Are you "hunters" afraid of your own shadow?

How funny that "wolf reintroduction" gets you pansies in ALARM making videos, petitions, and just completely making "facts" up out of this air. Wolves were here LONG before you poaching punks and they are determined to survive, with America's support.

  • Awesome video- have signed the petition and emailed congress myself...

No one would dispute that wolves are beautiful. No one would dispute they have a right to life. But for officials to go back on their oen word about objective numbers (which they absolutely did) is irresponsible to both the wolf, and all other life that they impact. We need to get their numbers back in control (if that is possible)

Humans are the dominant predator in our ecosystem, not wolves.

  • The species that were almost decimated weren't decimated by wolves, they were decimated by humans. Wolves themselves had already been decimated by humans. Wolves evolved in a symbiotic relationship with prey species. They won't wipe the prey species out because that would be the end of wolves. It's been built into nature that predators are self limiting. The trouble is, there is one predator that is no longer self limited and that is man.

  • Nature will always find a way to survive without human help. Humans just have to stop think that they do anything better because they are wrong. We only destroy nature by killing anything we don't like.

  • @Sucico2 you are so ignorant thats why when coyotes where intorduced to new york there was plenty of deer running around now the coyotes dropped the deer population last year and this year they run deer out of my hunting spots ill trap, hunt and run over any coyote i see. your statement contradicted itself because you said nature always helps itself it obviously doesnt considering humans got rid of buffalos no problem due to irresponsible hunting.

  • Idaho needs to get the wolf population back to the original recovery goal and all the ignorant wolf lovers just need to STFU and stop filing lawsuits to keep them protected. Wolves are not endangered, they never should have been listed and most certainly never should have been released illegaly here in Idaho.

  • I have owned ...no ....lived with WOLVES....Near killed me when my big BLUE got cancer.....

His mate ...died 2 years later....from a broken heart... They are like family..and are the most loving pet on earth....I'm going to adopt aother one.....and spoil it... They weigh in the 200 pound neighborhood...

  • Went Bear hunting in the UP of MIchigan, tons of bear up there, we seen over 100 different wolves and only 4 Bear, does that tell ya something?

  • yeah! got some wolfs in my area, hopefully they give out tags!!!

  • I say keep the wolves no matter what let nature take it's course. They are amazing animals.

  • What this video doesn't tell is that there are several packs of wolves in Wallowa County, OR (NE Oregon). One male from one of those packs has separated and was last seen in Klamath County, OR! Ranchers in Wallowa County have had many calves killed by wolves. One pack is within 5 miles of Joseph, OR. Wolves are beatiful creatures but there needs to be control! Near where I live in Idaho, a woman that was bow hunting was stalked by a wolf. She had to shoot the animal to protect herself.

  • HELL ! want to know the TRUTH ??? these wolves that have been "RE-INTRODUCED" are canadian grey wolves which are NOT indiginous to our lower 48 at ALL !!! shoot 'em on sight !!! be done with it ...

  • our grandparents and greatgrandparents worked day and night to make the West a livable environment for humans to carve an existance out of the wilderness THEN .... along come some fat, lazy, nosy, liberal pushy SOB's who think it great fun to sit on their fat asses in places where they are safe and warm, exerting their will on the rest of us - This is done not only with careful manipulation of the American legal system but also with blatant lies and deception - IT IS time to put a stop to this !

  • This is very well done...a decade late but well done, non the less.

  • Predators are a threat to animals? Let's revisit bilogy class. Remember the part about ecologies? Um yes. As the number of prey increases, so does the number of predators. As the number of prey decreases, so does the number of predators. We don't need to kill anything to regulate numbers. Nature has been doing it on it's own for millions of years ;D

  • @MyNameIsZura And as the number of predators increases, the number of prey decreases, and eventually the prey goes extinct from being overhunted, and all the other predators relying on the prey species go extinct, and basically everything dies. YEAH! :D

  • @CaptainLilycat Indeed. It would take a long time and an incredible number of wolves to make something go extinct. Furthermore, wolves eat a variety of things, and so the pops of species would have a chance to recover, if only a small chance. And, if they did go extinct, then natural selection dictates that they were not strong or apadpted enough to escape the wolves and survive, and tht they should die, and would have died anyway, if not by wolves, then by something else. Yeeeeeaeeeaaahhhhhh C:

  • @MyNameIsZura I didn't necessarily say 'wolves'.

and that prey species was probably a main diet for many other predators, and now that they're gone those predators go out of and and it starts all over again. yeah.

  • The comments on this video are shockingly intelligent, for the most part.

  • I love this video. I love wolves.I personally don't hunt or trap. But when it comes down to it, overall ecosystems matter, not one species. And, bluntly, human hunting really matters. Without hunters, there wouldn't be nearly as much money being put in to wildlife conservation and land restoration. There wouldn't be a voice for the animals who others might say aren't as appealing. Wolves are great but they need to be managed. Humans are the only true creators of that so called "natural balance".

  • @wolfforce58205 you don't squat about nothing. Duck hunters help pay for some wetland protection, but that's the extent of it. Deer and elk hunters are doing the job that wolves and cougars and coyotes do 1000 TIMES better.

These sport hunters buy their food at supermarkets. their kids don't eat elk jerky during the winter for every meal. Having a balanced ecosystem is paramount, and these whinny hunters need to quit crying all the damn time.

  • @Vidinotes Did I ever at any point say hunters and their families only eat what they kill? (though I do know a few people who live that way) You're very wrong about the funds though; look up the Pittman-Robertson Act of 1937. The budgets for states for wildlife/habitat conservation/restoration is ~$40 mill./year, ~55-65% of which comes from hunting and fishing licenses (not including gun & ammo taxes, just the game tags here), ~15-25% Fed. Aid Funds, & ~20-25% Other Sources.

  • @Vidinotes Now then, to address your last point, how does the protection of ONE animal ensure the balance of an ecosystem? It doesn't. We manage nearly all animals one way or another, and when we put certain ones off limits (that aren't in dangerously low population levels) it's giving them an unfair advantage, which will not make for a balanced ecosystem. Regardless, nature doens't balance things out, MAN does. Nature booms and busts, sometimes ending in extinction. Chaos, really.

  • @wolfforce58205 Your #s are skewed toward 'game management' whereas national parks, wilderness areas, and private conservation organizations protect more biodiversity on this planet than mere hunter fees. And to say nature booms and busts and need man is on its face, a foolish statement due to lack of schooling. Wolves and predators exist for a reason, and we should let them do their job. To think white guys with guns need to perform some ecological service is wacko.

  • @Vidinotes My numbers come from a wilflife course at my school (Humboldt State University; science-focused college), from my professor who is a wildlife field biologist, so I'm sorry but I don't think they're skewed. I know someone who is actually crunching numbers just to see how much money wolf and elk hunting alone bring in (via game tags, not additional taxes), and the numbers they've gathered so far are surprisingly high. I should retrieve those for you; it'd be fair to do.

  • @Vidinotes And also, really, you don't think nature booms and busts? Since you're the one calling me out, please, provide some evidence that proves otherwise, especially in today's modern society where our invasion of wildlife habitat and acceptance of only certain animals near our neighborhoods plays a factor in conservation and wilflife populations. And don't forget invasive species, either, which are very much a modern-day reality and problem that can't be factored out.

  • @wolfforce58205 Prey and predator population dynamics are related, but complex. I studied wildlife biology, but you I believe Marty Stoufer videos also explain this concept well enough. My point is that we can live with wolves and cougars and grizzlies if we want to, if we are accepting of their right to life. We can't turn wilderness into a safe game park - go and check out the east coast forests that are without predators - its full of deer and ticks.

  • @Vidinotes Yes they're related, I've seen plenty of grafts to prove it, however times have changed where humans cause favor to certain species or only allot enough undisturbed habitat for certain species (or introduce disease/competition), and screw up these dynamics. And even then, those grafts weren't flat, they are usually booms and busts. The east coast definitely has too many deer, but people wouldn't want predators introduced that could end up in their back yards. Stalemate =/

  • Last post. It is a fallacy that wolves don't kill for sport: This is an outright lie put forth by pro wolf organizations

As just one example google "Wolves kill 120 sheep near Dillon". This was a sport killing.

Three packs had to be killed in Idaho by officials because of livestock predation. One pack for sport killing of livestock

    Also, try googling

"Photographic Proof That Wolves Do Kill Without Eating Their Prey"

  • So here are some facts from those who think it "isn't so bad."

Lolo elk herd in Idaho is considered unsustainable w/o a drastic decrease in wolf population. Herd has decreased from 12,000 to less than 2,000 since wolf reintroduction. Cow and calf survival rates are too low to maintain the viability of the herd.

Montana- Gallatin valley herd has decreased from 2,000 to 200 in just 3 years

Yellowstone- elk herd dropped from a level of 20,000 to 6,000, calf survival rates are alarmingly low.

  • To all wolf lovers that accuse sportsmen of hating wolves. It's sad that you are willing to put the survival of other wildlife at great risk to promote a species that is not endangered by any means. Sportsmen want wolf management, not eradication.

In your idealistic little world you have placed the wolf as a more important creature in the ecosystem than the elk, moose, deer and other ungulates that make up their prey. You are so enamored with your ideas you have no room for the truth.

  • Jamar, you have no idea what you are talking about. Trust me, I live in Big Sky Montana. The elk population is way down from wolves, not hunters. Many areas are closed now that were open just years ago. Why? not because of people. I assure you. Research before you speak. Hunting is a way of life in the West. Yes, we put the racks on the wall. We also put pounds of meat in our freezers to feed our families and our friends. Again, unless you know what you are talking about......don't speak.

  • So ideological groups want to save the wolves for their narrow agenda - basically don't kill wolves, while sportsman want to kill the wolf so they can get to kill big game first - the narrow agenda seems to be with the creators of this video

  • This is like watching modern day 19th century mentality. The image choice of wolves...one resting and one eating tosurvive? Quit TRYING to make the wolves look like they kill for sport as we know human hunters really do! Dont see wolves hunting the biggest bull so he can hangs the antlers on his wall! Wolves seek out the weakest, oldest, etc. GOD/NATURE created them for this very reason. IF there's any Elk decline its by over populated HUMAN hunters not the NATURAL wild predators.!

  • @Jamart2662 You know nothing about wolves. Only 5% of thier kills are the old and sick. Some herds don't have any elk calves or yearlings left alive after winter. Once they eat all the young easy ones they start killing cows. Wolves ate so many young elk in Yellowstone the herd has dropped from 20,000 to 5,000. Watch the youtube video " Yellowstone is Dead "

  • I agree with you in a way but humans have been hunting for thousands of years and we attribute to the 'circle of life' as well. Yes, it is very wrong that some people want to keep up the population and control it simply because they want their 'sport' hunting but it's not all people that are like that. Some people (I lived in Montana for nearly 3 years) actually kill to feed their family. But I could go on forever about all that XD Simply put, there are the good and the bad everywhere.

    Briezy~

  • You guy think its the wolves falt for the decline of elk and other game. Did you ever think it my be yours? Or do you just want someone to blame?

  • @CountryLove27 Watch the youtube video " Yellowstone is Dead " . You'll see what is causing the decline.

  • Check out the youtube videos titled -Trev's Trapline - He's in b.c. canada and leg traps wolves. you might pick up some tips on how to help get rid of these vermin wolves.

  • That's a very immature comment there. Was that really necessary on a video like this? That's a completely inhumane way to kill an animal and to post it on a video about humanely controlling a population is just sick. Take your negative comments somewhere else.

    Briezy~

  • @rangerx125 I post a reference to a Trappers video, you call it immature? WTF Trapping is LEGAL, the season starts in on the 15th in Montana. You want to talk about inhumane,go watch the vids showing wolves rip the guts out of elk calves and eat them while they are still alive. Wolves are not efficent at killing. For fun Wolf watchers go to see elk calves get ripped to pieces. I compare them to the people in muslim countries who pack up the kids tp take them to a stoning. They are the sick ones.

  • Just because something is legal doesn't make it right? Did I say it was illegal in any way? Just inhumane in my opinion. It's sick to do trap an animal and make it suffer when you are consciously aware of what your doing. And we have to hunt and kill our food with our teeth do we? No. Are wolves going to care what we think of the way they kill their prey? No. Your making it seem as if wolves intentionally know what their doing and have some kind of sick intentions when their feeding themselves.

  • People KNOW what they're doing, that's the sick part. Why trap an animal with a horrible leg trap and make them suffer until your on your merry way to simply end their misery if they hadn't managed to die of starvation or some other means? I agree with population control with all animals so we're not overrun but animals feel pain too and purposefully making an animal suffer is disgusting. But Karma gets all the nasty ones in the end doesn't it?

    Briezy~

  • wuhan801 What part of "MANAGEMENT" do you not understand

  • The wolf is a natural creature just like the elk, deer or moose. Quit trying to justify killing the wolved just so you can hunt once a year

  • @wuhan801 People complain when they're aren't enough wolves, but don't complain when deer and elk are in danger... stop pretending like you're not being biased.

  • We can't be silent or the game will be gone. Love the video

  • Done very well. I will continue my support

  • Great video!

  • Check out the SuperMontanamike film - Eaten Alive

  • You might want to check out my film Undue Burden prosts dot com

    Great job on this video.
