Hi, I'm your fan, I think you're an excellent teacher, I hope you can do more videos like all these I've been following. Since I was a child I've loved the Czech Republic, I wish to visit Prague next year, so I want to learn at least basic czech in order to improve my comfort while in Prague. Although I'm not english-speaking, in fact I'm from Mexico, I believe I got the point in all of your lessons. Thank you very much. Un gran saludo y fuerte abrazo desde México, sigue como hasta ahora.
@Dan66te Hello, thank you for your kind comments. I plan to make some new videos in the next week or too. I have been too busy with other things recently.
I have said the same thing to people who want to learn a language but was told it was hard. Its only hard if you let it be. if you are determined you will learn it with time.
@Codylangaugesblog Yes, people are always look for a secret "fastest way" to learn a language. I think the fastest way is to fall in love with the language, then you will enjoy the experience and not see it as work. The focus then shifts from the goal (becoming "fluent") to the journey (wallowing in the delight of the language).
@jmichaelrout Thank you. Now I wish I hadn't said I can speak any languages other than English. To be honest, I used to be pretty fluent (or close) in a few languages and had "survival" abilities in a few more, and have dabbled (and still do) in quite a few others. Nowadays, I love Mandarin as much as I love Czech, and probably speak French better than both. However, I wouldn't dare compare myself with real speakers of any language other than English.
@UnclePolyglot Passion is all I have. It is my substitute for the natural ability that I lack. Thankfully, I have lots of time and lots of love for languages, and am always happy even with a little progress.
"No matter what" are three powerful words. A friend of mine, who never showed the slightest interest in foreign languages, fell for a Mexican girl who spoke no English. He told me he was going to learn Spanish, "no matter what." He was pretty motivated. He didn't get very far with the girl, but he now speaks Spanish ;-)
@syzygycc Oh, I have done quite a few things in my past to impress women - for example, studying Hebrew so I could sing songs to a certain woman. And learning basic danish so I could write love letters to another woman. Hah! The things men do!
Hi, can anyone tell me what my name is in Czech and how it is pronounced? My name is Nick

Hahaha, we are both former cubists, both guitarists, both language enthusiasts, what else do you do?

Vaše zapálenost pro češtinu je skvělá. Doufám, že vám to vydrží i nadále.

Wonderful video. What other languages do you speak? And do you ever think you'll develop the passion for them that you have for Czech?

I completely agree with you in that passion is the most determining factor for one's success in language learning!
