They are not even enforcers for the most part.

First of all mad cow is caused by a protein. Not everyone would die from mad cow. Second NO I do not want people to die from mad cow. That is why they passed the FDA to prevent such things. The FDA actually does some of their job. The EPA is in effect useless. They do not protect you at all. In fact frequently their effects are after the fact. A private organization or environmental group does much more.

The FDA was ratified by theodore roosevelt. It was not made with an executive order like the EPA. That is why it actually functions. The EPA was created by executive order from nixon. You can't hollow out something that is already empty. However if your argument is funding cuts, obama is president and the EPA still does jack squat but prevent the little guy from functioning.
