  • Wow I wish there was a way to get that with the GMA 950 :(

Even Modded Drivers won't help. It launches, but hey, 1-30 FPS [30 when looking at the sky.]

  • @7Sn1per Yeah, I know what you mean. Too bad it's only meant for light apps and standard definition video. Have you tried using yitch3?

  • @thugsnw I tried yitch2, don't know where to get yitch3. I really wanted 3d analyze to work with it, but the problem is swiftshader. I wonder if it can go to -1.

  • @7Sn1per Link to yitch3 can be found at the bottom-most part of my video description. What's Swiftshader? Is that the file that forces GMA 950 to use shader model 3.0?

  • @thugsnw Yeah, wish I had that laptop, I want nVidia Ion.

  • @7Sn1per I tried to use that on my GMA 950 before. It didn't work well. I tried it on SF4, and while the game loaded, all I could see was the background image. If you're gonna buy a gaming laptop, buy a gaming laptop -- not a netbook. There are ones that go a little over the price of my netbook when it was fairly new, and it has i3 and a better graphics card. The bottleneck in netbooks is the CPU. Dual-core or not it doesn't make a big difference since it's connected to the PCIe x1 slot.

  • @thugsnw Eh, problem is my budget. I can only afford at most a 300 dollar one. Tell me where to find a 300 dollar half-gaming laptop and I'll be happy.

  • @7Sn1per Oh. Well, the best you can do is probably get a second hand gaming netbook or notebook. If you're keen on just building something you can game on and not necessarily portable, you can try building a gaming desktop. Someone posted the list of components needed, and I think the sum is almost $300. The guy claimed it can even run Battlefield 3 on decent settings. I think the netbook you have now can run Portal good enough, youtube(dot)com/watch?v=9ilsirII6_4

  • @thugsnw Yeah, I just made a build list, costs 207 bucks, it doesn't include the GPU because I already have one. Could run CoD4, aIW and BC2, which is all I need. I'm TOO POOR THOUGH!

  • @7Sn1per Or you can get a PS3 or a 360, don't have to worry about specs, and play games that'll be out within 4 or 5 more years (and those that were out before that). Of course, PC exclusives are out, though.

  • @thugsnw I have a PS3, wanna add me?

  • @7Sn1per Ah, so I guess you want a gaming notebook for portability benefits. Yeah, sure. You can PM your PSN ID and I'll add you when I get home. What games do you play there by the way?

  • @thugsnw All kinds of games, CoD4, MW2. BC1 [Not that much, maybe played it like twice.] I'm also getting BF3, I also have GTA4, but I haven't played it alot.

  • @7Sn1per Oh, cool. As much as I like shooters, I'm bad at them. I'm getting BF3 as well -- probably on both consoles. The beta's gonna end later, which means there are only a few weeks til the retail (yay). Uncharted's awesome, too. The only GTA I liked was Chinatown Wars for the DS, and GTA-esque titles Bully and LA Noire.

  • @thugsnw Hehe, I'm terrible at them, eventually I get a couple good matches in. Played Uncharted 2, I have 1 sitting here, hate that damn sneaking missing [RAGE!!]

Battlefield 3's only going to cost 5 dollars too :D

  • @7Sn1per I just finished U2 recently, and that's probably because I also got a PS3 quite recently. U3 looks terrific, but I'm not sure I'm gonna buy it day one. I might wait a little. I only play the story anyway. Planning to get that Zelda Skyward Sword special bundle first. What do you mean BF3's gonna cost 5 dollars?

  • 10 fps...

  • @mmonrealc Yep, it dips down. But it also reaches impressive framerates a lot.

  • funny to see how war turned to games... i would not like to be there if it was true.

  • how did you do that? Oo

my 1215n playing mw with incredible camera movement delays and around 9-12 fps (this map too)... totally unplayable=\

(actually video delyas in each game i have tested, its most annoying shit)

    win 7 x64, nvidia driver 275.33

...btw still flash fullscreen hw accel doesnt work, enabling hw render in IE9 crashes it.. this netbook already pisses me off

  • @deamoK19 Nothing, just what I said in the description panel.

  • eee... isnt that a mini pc???

  • @RealStupidTV It's a netbook, yes. It's originally built as a substitute for laptops, with the intent to handle the bulk of non-demanding tasks -- such as web browsing, basic word processing, or running light multimedia -- on the go. Recently, however, they're not as "mini" anymore and they're getting more power than what they're designed for. Max size is also nearing laptop territory, such as the one featured here: the 12.1" dual-core, graphically-capable 1215N.

  • @thugsnw ok, i have one that i never use (it takes 10 min to turn it on) and i bought it back in 2009, obviously should have waited... doesnt matter it looks like its a bit laggy and i have a gaming pc now

  • @RealStupidTV Yeah, I have one just like that. The 10.1" screen Acer is what it was. I gave it to my mom since she does really use it for light web stuff like Skype and run 16-bit emulators on it. It could actually be capable of running this game if it was fitted with a dedicated graphics card. But it's still good for playing PSX games by itself, though. There's also an internal graphics overclocker around the net somewhere. You might want to look into it.

  • @thugsnw oh, i guess i could,

    but...

    1. no idea where to get, or where to place a mini-pc graphics card

    2. i got a gaming pc that holds studd like MoH and BFBC2 on 60 to 100 fps

  • @RealStupidTV No need for a gaming netbook then. Besides, you can't install a graphics card on a portable computer like you can on desktops. However, there was one external graphics accelerator once, made for Acer FerrariOne, I think -- but it may have stopped production.

  • The graphics quality like this is incredible for a netbook, i think.

    Awesome video, thanks the demonstration.

But... why do you people keep enabling Vertical sync?? This makes mouse lags on any computer configuration... Even in the Portal 1 running on q6600+gtx260 enabling V Sync makes camera movements unpleasant

  • @deamoK19 Vertical sync makes the tearing go away (since it locks the framerate to the monitor's refresh rate, which is 60 Hz nowadays). If you enable triple buffering, framerate drops will go away. Thanks for viewing by the way.

  • how come no one records with like fraps or anything?? allways a camera? please answer.

  • @GODTECK Because I'm showcasing the actual framerate you get when you play the game. Fraps will slow down the game's share on the processor because it needs the processor to record, too.

  • @thugsnw thanks for reply, but can you please make a video with fraps so i can see. Im getting an asus soon.

    thanks.

  • @GODTECK I'm not sure if I'll ever do a demo of this again, much more using Fraps as a recorder. I tried it once and let me tell you: It wasn't pretty. I did it with SF4, I believe, and ended up with about 6 fps, whereas without it I get 40+ fps. If you're eager to get a "gaming netbook", you might want to veer your sights toward the 1215B model. It runs on AMD, which I heard is more efficient than Intel, and is equipped with ATI+northbridge with DirectX 11 capabilities.

  • @thugsnw not this game in general, but anygame. Thanks for the info thew prices dont even differ on amazon between the 15n and 15b. so id be better off with the 15b? also, i make games in a program called blender. will that run really good on the 15b or 15n?

  • @GODTECK Probably. But difference in performance may not be noticeable beyond the gaming portal. Though if I were in your shoes, I'd definitely choose 1215B over this just because it uses a better graphics card. Not sure about Blender, but I can use 3ds Max 2010 just fine with my this netbook.

  • @thugsnw 3ds max is alot more DETAILED than blender. So im sure it will work, theres this thing called glsl is like hd and uses high detailed lighting and stuff, you nthinkthat will work?

  • @GODTECK Again, not sure about that. I just did a few basic geometric shapes in Max just to test the smoothness of the viewports, so I haven't really done anything yet to test the netbook's capabilities. If you plan on using 3D apps often, why not just get an i3 notebook for a little more cost?

  • lol you never closed windows live messenger from when your computer booted up. And whats ragdoll do?

  • @TheFi3Ndx Yeah, Messenger's set on auto log-on. Ragdoll's used for death animations; see how they drop like dolls when killed.

  • @thugsnw Thanx

  • Good video! Can you test Modern Warfare 2 ? :)

  • @DJDa9L Thanks. I did test it before, but at the current drivers, the performance is way down compared to COD4 even at medium settings. I might give it a go again when NVIDIA releases new WHQLs. The beta made some games suck a little, but I notice lesser artifacts on SC2.

  • can u plz do crysis 2

  • @JedMaynard I'll test that one of these days.

  • @thugsnw when it comes out

  • keep them coming!
