  • Thanks for the vid. it's cool to see the difference before buy one or the other

  • Thanx for this video, always wanted to see the comparison before buying!

  • Doesn't opening an umbrella inside cause bad luck?

  • hi dom, just a question, how do you trigger your speedlight? dunno if you got any vid talking about this. cheers

  • 29 thousand people seen her boogies.....lmao...

  • good video Dom

  • At a certain he states that shooting through the umbrella creates harsher shadows then using it as reflective I think thats incorrect. Its vice versa. Reflective creates harsher shadows cuz its hard light and shoot through creates softer and more diffused shadows because the light is being diffused !

  • Well, if we all had that kind of lovely model on hand for our demonstations we might be as casual with her presentation as well!!! Don't complain to me if someday she picks up one of those heavy duty light stands and bonks you on the noggin! :o)

The demo would be more dramatic if you didn't have such close white walls to bounce the light around... I love shoot through umbrellas because they automatically feather the light if you use them just right!

    ... and Bob's yer uncle!

  • @PaulFarace this isn't a video about nice photos its a demonstration of the different lighting effects, subject and backgrounds.

  • @PaulFarace fag

  • Very goofy couple but they made their point. Very informative video, thanks and stay goofy, we got enough serious people.

  • I have one question - how strong is your built in flash in this video. Isnt it affects image?? I mean affects the effect of the flash through umbrella (shadows)?

  • @apo5 sounds like u need to watch my other videos on NIKON cls

  • Hey Dom, any drastic differences when using a reflective umbrella to bounce the flash vs what you have used in this vid?

    Thanks

  • useful comparaison ! thanks

  • Oh Dom ol' boy, I just knew you'd have a video on what I needed info on

  • Q: what is size of the umbrella ?

  • she's a cutie!

  • What is your white balance?

  • Anyone know where to get that umbrella?

  • @1rhett1 Amazon

  • Great video Dom! Thanks. Did you ever put up the "baby photos" video. I wasn't able to find it.

  • Hi, question, with the shoot-through, would it help if we put a reflector on the right? Thanks!

  • Great you guys loook so good together

  • I enjoy your videos, and what a charmer that Kim ! :-)

  • cool idea bro

  • Very good video. To soften/spread the light even more, the omni bounce or the flip out diffuser can be used as well. Very enjoyable and Kim is great. The boob-lift is priceless! LOL!!

  • great tips and hilarious as always!!

  • Thanx guys! U Hameewombats are funny.

  • not to nit-pick, but the umbrella should have come through the mount the other way(when shooting through it). The hole for the shaft is angled to aim the flash at the center of the umbrella.

  • @jgillcustoms I had the same problem. The flash is too high on the stand, so its not centered.

  • @jgillcustoms Why did you say 'not to nit-pick'

    You just did!

  • @jgillcustoms You get umbrella stands that have non angled mounts like the Phottix Varos. His is probably the same type.

  • happy couple~ i like it

  • @XXXSBU Really cute together. Reminds me of me and my girlfriend! :D

  • Cracking vid Dom....Kim's gorgeous (even with a bogey) ;))

  • Nice video! The thing I like about shoot through umbrellas is that you can stick it literally few inches from the subjects face if you really want a soft light, The light indeed is a lot harder to control and is all over the place.

Btw, I've found that using an omni-bounce type diffuser on your flash - if you can afford the light loss - helps fill the umbrella better. Mainly use it for shoot throughs though as I want to control the spill on a reflective one.

  • Kim is so pretty.

It was funny when how she got all annoyed while you were messing with the umbrella.

  • Hi Dom, great HD vid! I have a question, Does the on-cam flash affect the result of the test you have made? cheers! good luck to your new HD channel!

  • Kim is so cute :) great video Dom!

  • LOL, can't believe you used the shot with the bogey! Thanks for the vid LOL
