  • guys I wanna do the cups and balls routine in my next show , 'n' I like his ending with the cents, any suggesting for what I can use to put the cents ?

  • That was clever!

  • i love the ending

  • You can buy this trick with plastic cups in a toy magic set, it's nothing special.

  • @heelfan1234

Please, don't try to comment on something you have less then half a clue about, and don't be naive. You wouldn't be able to do this if you practiced for years. I know this because I'm a professional, full-time magician. A routine like this takes years to master.

  • @Combustion99 Actually I do the effect myself. And much better than this with the Vernon wand spin vanish and stuff which I doubt you can do. Also the final loads in this were clumsy with a lot of fiddling about in the bag under the table. It was quite transparent when the loads were going in, Dai Vernon could do this better at 78 years old standing up and loading the finals from his back pocket.

  • @heelfan1234

And, does the fact that you do the effect mean you do it well? If you do it as well as you say you do, post a video, and I'll critique it. I'll be honest, because I have nothing to lose or win. Also, I did not say that this routine was perfect, because it is nowhere close to where routines by Ammar/Vernon/Burton are.

  • wow nice cups , brett sheerwood silver engrave.

  • ahhhh i saw him putting more red balls under the cups from 2:25-2:29

  • for some reason i wanna beat this guy up lol

  • 0:32 , hes droping the ball , only a stupid can't see him! :S

  • Does anybody know what type of cups he's using?

  • @DazzlingDoudini Not sure, but from here they look like Brett Sherwood cups.

  • Nice job.

  • that was sweet i liked it

  • I hate how the first guy is so cocky

  • sense / cents ... clever ! :]

  • TWO GIRLS THREE CUPS

  • HOLY JESUS CHRIST i didnt expected all those ends xD he's so awesome, had to watch the video twice to see when he do the things

  • insane!

  • CUP AND BALLS

  • The wand is an Owen wand, a little thnner than most for close-up and, yes, there are exactly 247 pennies - - John

  • such a good trick!!! 5*****

  • great trick!!!

    5 stars

it cost me a lot of time to fircer all of this move he did. and how he did it :D

still not good as him but i'm getting there

sorry is my englisch is crappy

  • Looks like he's playing with his cock when he puts his balls underneath the table and grabs his big balls

  • Well done!!! Great performance!!! 5 stars!!!

  • Mendoza is behind one of the all time best Cups and Balls, period. Ricky Jay may have the only other comparably solid routine. This is absolutely gorgeous.

  • Anyone know what wand he is using?

  • That final load was beautiful, love it. (I wonder if there actually were 287 pennies)

  • @tk201299 Not even close

  • watch it enough times and you can catch his slight of hand

    pretty good i must admit

  • Those cups that he is using are very nice...They are Brett Sherwood cups and they are a pretty penny....

  • It's difficult to perform. But it's not that difficult to see what he's doing.

  • Nice routine :-)

  • amazing

  • where could i get that wand?

  • the bloond one is hooot man

  • Question...

I am NOT a magician, but I saw where all the big balls came from. Even all the coins.... I mean, I have no clue how he snuck them in without any noise, but I totally saw him put them in there. I would imagine a performance like this would be better in person, and not on video. Video killed the radio star AND the magic act.

  • Actually, if you watch carefully and look for it, he does make a noise when he puts the coins in. Of course, nobody notices because they're busy applauding and, even if you did hear it, you'd imagine it was just the cups jangling together.

  • Well performed, but the girls have to be dumb not to c him take the loads from that angle......

    Raj.

  • that's the magic of the sleight, no one could see it, if they can, then the magician is doing something wrong

  • chop chop xD

This guys is very good at the moves. Wish the routine was more entertaining.

  • okay, the girl in the red is a distraction. She's a.) wearing red, which draws focus and b.) she's really, really attractive. I don't care how good a magician you are.... it's hard to take your eyes off a beautiful girl.

  • the girl in the white to the right of HIM is definitley more attractive thn the girl in the red

  • YEA!! Way more attractive..wanna give her a little squeeze..HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Awesome performance! I have to say this is one of the best ever.

  • thats a great routine and a great way to end it

  • The final penny load was invented and created for Mendoza by Minnesota artist and magician Steven Paul Carlson back in 1976. Though Carlson first used pennies with the line..It doesnt make any sense (cents) any loose items can be used. The original intention was to have 100 little balls roll out.

  • Man, that final load is awesome.

Pretty good routine except for the extended periods under the table.

  • @alonepsycho Thank you for the nice comment on the final penny load, I created that about 35 years ago and gave one to Mendoza who was a good friend at the time. I also made one for his Fez routine.

  • the short skirt lady is the main missdirection of the trick :D

  • hahahahah

  • wanna lick it.LOL

  • yeah the ladys are fair, we can see that they know what hes doing but they say nothing...( xD )

but hes too slow and i think hes so slow because he have to think about his own trick :D:DÖ:D

  • @karazh lol learn the very first trick in magic when you think something is slow make it slower then make it even slower

  • amazing ending, but the loads are slightly obvious xD

  • than how does he do that because i hav no clue lol?

  • beautiful routine i like it

  • A very good routine :-)

  • I think you can tell a better story during your performance but with this amazing end that doesn`t really matter :D

  • Dai Vernon was better.

  • Duh.... But i think his ending with the money.

  • The cup full of pennies finish was created by Minnesota artist & magician Steven Paul Carlson back in 1977 one was made for Mendoza around that time. Any loose item can be used; Carlson used pennies because at the time it was the only loose item he had. When he came up with the line it doesnt make sense (cents) the pennies stayed in. Carlson has written this method up and does have a copyright on it; the method is available for purchase.

  • That's a killer ending.

  • no no, I meant brainhorm, not you. I was agreeing with you. I was saying how it wasn't likely that an eight year old could be as good as Mendoza. Sorry, I replyed to the wrong box.

  • My apologies :)

  • It's called sleight of hand dude. The cups are just props.

  • @magikrn you realize its just four balls and the final loads were good but literally anyone can do this with a week of practice

  • @Nmaley101 you realize that not only are you wrong but that you are ruining it for everyone?

  • I highly doubt that

  • his loads are way too obvious, its a good routine, but if you watch dai vernon himself do the routine there's no movement with his hands on his lap infact his hands barely leave the table. theres too much movement under the table, you can see he's doin something, even if your not a magician you can surely see hes doin something, i am impressed with the finish though. especially that the load doesn't make noise lol, very strong ending

  • Indeed Dai Vernon was a lot better, but you are very wrong. To a laymen they would never ever see the load. EVER. They are not looking for it. If you know there is a big finish, you will look for the moment, they are unaware until it happens that anything will happen at all. Very basic principle of magic.

  • yeh ur right i know very little about magic and i barely noticed anything out of the ordinary, but yes u can obviously notice that hes got stuff on his lap or in his pockets which is a bit dodgy.

  • The cup full of pennies finish was created by and made for Mendoza by Minnesota artist & magician Steven Paul Carlson. Mendoza is always an entertaining performer! Audiences love his magic. The Magic Castle should have made him close-up magician of the year.

  • I think he's not as good as Michael Ammar

  • I totally agree! Mendoza digs around in his lap way too much! The ladies to his right can see everything he is doing, sad!

  • I love Mendoza's style. He's so casual and his demeanor invites you in to relax and enjoy.

Not like he's trying to fool you but entertain you.

    Great stuff by a legend.

  • el mago se mamo hace los robos invisibles ecxelente

  • Amazing performance. The blonde to his left though is annoying, lol her laugh at 2:46

  • very nice!

the blondy on his left too ... by the way

  • The Bret Sherwood cups! Nice!

  • YEAH! Oh man..... $700

  • at least

  • very basic tricks right till the end. but very nice finish!

  • cool tricks, especially the last part with the coins. he placed them into the cup very fast and finished the trick naturally. nice!

  • buenisimo el video

  • i didnt like the preformance till the end that was a fantastic ending

  • agreed

  • shit is this coooool

  • I would love to know how he loads all those pennies so quitely any ideas?

  • Yes, I have the exact method to how he did it. I found out by buying his dvd My Best volume 2.

  • Ha, great answer..

  • @magikrn does it show the trick first and then the explanation?

  • @cj5jeep80 The penny load was created and made for Mendoza by Steven Paul Carlson an artist and magician from Minnesota. Carlson created it about 35 years ago. Any object can be used, Carlson used pennies as they were the first loose thing he could find around the house and later came up with the line "doesn't make any sense (cents)" The original though was to use tons of little tiny balls.

  • Slick! I love how the audience respond; captivated with an almost childlike glee. 5 stars.

  • He told me it does make sence.

I said you're wrong, it makes 270 cents!!

    haha...

  • lol, the ending is random, still got to love it though.

  • i got this trick and it was alot easer than i thought it would be. this guy does it so natural though. 4 stars

  • He is a little bit to quiet. It takes away from the trick.

  • itz hard enough 2 do tiz trick, but infront of the audience whu sits around n behind him....damn hez gud...

  • yea I know man I got this trick too and I have no one behind me because they will find out LMAO!!!!! but he good I think he learn it from DAI VERNON because he the best magician from cup and ball

  • gud luck then on ur sleight of hand...practice hard....

  • Master At his Craft

  • ooh, very natural

  • one of the best versions

  • I'd agree it would be the best version if it didn't use 4 balls

  • That blond chick right next to her is stupid not to see what he actually does... :O

  • YES! I saw when he put that last big ball into the middle cup, when he says 'This is a show ender!' Now, to figure out how he did the others.

  • Why not buy the dvd and learn it the proper way. He teaches this routine very thoroughly.

My Best Volume 2 by John Mendoza

  • This hardly resembles Vernon's cup routine. Mendoza digs around in his lap way too much! Carlson's coin finale finish is definitely the best part of this routine you can tell by the audience reaction!

  • i like the right to left thing that was cool

  • The penny finish was created and made for Mendoza by Minnesota artist & magician Steven Paul Carlson. Mendoza is always entertaining!

  • professional auidence members.

  • Anyone else notice that the dark haired girl that is sitting next to the black guy is the same girl from the Tommy Wonder cups and balls video? Just that in the Tommy Wonder video she is wearing glasses. It jumped right out at me. She is even sitting in almost the same spot.

  • These videos are made by L & L Publishing. If you look this is the same set as Tommy's. They used alot of the same people for their audiences.

  • That was really good! A bit of fumbling, but other wise great!

  • pretty cool

  • Tommy Wonder has the BEST cup and balls routine ever! Both close up, and even on stage, really the most amazing version I've seen since I saw the original tap and a ball penetrates version. RIP TOM:(

  • Wow. I'm in awe. Cups and balls surrounded by a live audience and do a lot of different tricks one after another. It's amazing how much practice he must have put in. Wow!

  • Yeah, saw it too. But shout it out : ( ?

  • His angles are perfect, she REALY can't see anything...

  • Girl on the left in the short skirt.

  • Too much fumbling under the table. Clear that up, and you've got an A-1 routine.

  • He teaches the routine piece by piece. Volume 2 is where you want to find this routine.

  • does he teach this routine on thes dvd? or is it just performance?

  • i think i no that chick on the rite

  • Yeah, Whats her number?

  • all i liked was the girl on d right

  • You watch a clip showing a great chop cup routine and you watch the girl? Hey, maybe with a group of people composed of people like you, I could look good too. Go watch some porno. This guy is GREAT!!! Have you ever seen Copperfield do close up magic? This guy puts him to shame. There are no mirrors here.

  • First of all this is a cups and balls not a chop cup routine. If you think this guy is great I think you are the one who hasn't seen any magic, all he added to that routine was a production of some coins other then that it was a standard cups and ball routine. And btw I don't need to watch any porn; I mentioned the girl to say that she was much better then the routine.

  • Chop cup, ball and cups, I wasn't saying that I am a magic critic, just that I enjoyed the routine and thought he was great. You, on the other hand, feel compelled to put it down. Here's an idea!!!! Post your own version and see how it flys, okay? And once again, your comment about the girl was irrelevant.

  • i think this was performed well, i enjoyed this routine he slight of hand was excellent.

  • One thing....is he scared of the audience...he never looks at them - barely...sleight of hand was good...as already said to much fumbling under the table...need to change some tone in his voice...there is no exitement

  • I like his style, shy and non-pretentious.

  • I agree. We've seen too many arrogants magicians so far. This guy is like your friend telling you a story and makes him closer to the audience. It's not one of those "look how cool I am" magicians. And morevoer, he's skilled with the cups and balls. Great video.

  • Copperfield deserves respect for what he's done for the magic community by preserving so vast a library of magic texts, plus his style is just different, so no need to put him down. This guy is good, and copperfield is good at what he does as well.

  • My Best volume 2 by John Mendoza

  • This is a great routine. Anyone know what DVD this is on?

  • Very very nice!! The girl at his right is very nice too :D

  • nice.
