tigerdirect delivered it to me just now, the xfx 4770 version didn't come with a dvi to hdmi adapter or a crossfire adapter which sucks. i'm using a nexxtech adapter and i'm getting no audio. if you guys are getting this card do not get it from Tiger Direct get it from NewEgg or NCIX instead.

The 4770 is much stronger than the 4670 but they both have the 1024*768 resolution for breakfast.

Now if you want to play Crysis Very High DX10, it is another issue alltogether.

For 99% of games the 4670 will do just fine. ;)

Yes. PCIe 2.0 cards are backwards compatible with all PCIe 16X slots!

Don't compare a 4770 with a 4650, the 4770 is basicly a weaker 4850,4870. Meaning much better then a 4650. This is the BEST $100 budget gaming card you can get for the money. DX11 is bullshit right now, just wait till the new nvidia ones it's going to be better hopefully. The ati ones are glitchy.

Gray screen, its like a BSOD, you will have no choice but to restart your CPU. The 5800s had been patched with new drivers, but the 5700s are still suffering from occational Gray screens. It randomly happens whether you are playing or doing nothing at all. Its driver defects not a hardware defect.

card makers? Ati makes everything on that card except for the fan, I/O bracket, Sapphire sticker and heatsink... The difference between this card and an XFX is the stickers and colour or the fan brace... oh, and XFX is from memory $15.00 more expensive. When buying a card be reminded that the chip is made by either Nvidia or ATi while it's stickered and boxed by heaps of companies e.g. sapphire, asus, gigabyte... hence no variations in colour with the chip. That said, look for gud warranty

So, this thing strikes me as a viable update on the 3870 at a great price. Am buggered if I can source a new 3870 now. They seem to have just evaporated off the face of the planet. Think I'm gonna hook into the two slot XFX 4770 for my daughter's pc.

The 4770 is a much better card than the 3870. Still, you have to make a reasonable assessment of what you need. If your daughter plays at resolution below 1680X1050, you may not have to upgrade the 3870.

If your daughter plays at resolutions above 1680X1050 and/or she prefers applying antialiasing along with anisotropic filtering, a 4770 would be a great alternative.

If she does not game at all, there is absolutely no reason to upgrade!

Nuh, it's ok. My 4870x2 reaches almost 100C and works for over a year now without the slighest glitch. Graphic card companies are not stupid to give 3 year warranty, if the cards would break down so easily.

Depends on the PSU, anything 3-400 is fine aslong as you have something like an antec or Corsair. I would just stay away from crappy brands regardless. They generally don't keep a steady stream of power and cause surges.

I am not aware of ATI's official power requirements, but the system i tested on my videos (x3-720,ati 4770,5hdds) had 200 watts at load!

Do you mean two 3850s in crossfire mode? There is no 3850X2, only 3870X2.

Anyway go for the 4770 and OC it to 830mhz like i did. Rv7XX chips are so much better in every way and the 4770 will consume about 1/3 of what the 3870X2 consumes.

To put it in other words, ATI 4850 is equal to the 3870X2. The 3850X2 is lower than the 3870X2 but in the same respect, the 4770 is lower than the 4850. So i could say that they would be almost equal, but the thing is that the 4770 is 40nm, lower power requirements and it will not be dependent on the gpu scaling to give everything it's got! ;)
