no... thats a lie here in canada we have it and out taxes averege around 35% the highest amoung of tax you pay is 55% but thats if you make around above 4 million a year. anyways it would help your people or are you too selfish to do that?

I got it. It was tougher to leave my country to than to get into this one. I did it legally, pay my taxes, have a middle income job and have health care. And my health care is paid by the university I teach at. The point of an ILLEGAL immigrant is that they are just that ILLEGAL. No excuses, it's still illegal.

Okay, so reform may be needed, but amnesty? I understand Mexico has a poor economy and America is way better, but if they come here, they should come here to be Americans, not to be Mexicans. I came here to be an American and I love this country. They should have to learn our language and take a citizenship test to gain the rights Americans have.

I went to a PTA meeting and as they were talking to us they had a translater repeating everything in Spanish. My girlfiend is from Cambodia and got her citzenship and had to learn English because you will never find anyone speaking Cambodian. Point is why learn english when there is no reason to.

FDR (dem) started Social Sec (SS) & made 5 promises which have all been broken. Who took SS from a trust fund to a general fund so congress could spend it? -- Democrats.  And the dems were in control of congress. Who eliminated the tax deduction for SS? -- Democrats. Who started taxing SS annuities? -- you guessed it, the Democrats w/Gore casting the deciding tie-breaker vote. Who started giving annuity pymts to immigrants who paid zero -- Jimmy Carter (dem).

Hey I have the solution to Soc Sec woes. We should just go back to the scam that it was in the first place. In '33 the average age at death was 64, the retirement age was set at 65. In other words the average person was NEVER MEANT TO COLLECT ANYTHING. We just have to raise the Soc Sec retirement age to 75. BOOM! Problem solved.

Social Security is the WORST investment any American makes in their lifetime.

And of course the system fixes itself if you just start stealing from the rich to give to the poor. But if you read our Constitution it doesn't give the federal government the right to commit such a heinous act.

On the subject of Social Secutity.

We must move the fund back into its own fund and get it out of the GENERAL FUND. When that occurs the fund then can not be raided by the political interest again for other purposes, like war or balancing the budget. G. Gray NPR, FL.

Yeah I love Obama's answer here. Does he not know that it was in '83 that the govt. officially started counting soc sec contributions as general revenue? (In order to make the deficit look smaller.) The equilavent, in my mind, of a corporation counting 401k contributions as revenue. A little something called fraud.
