  • nice jeep man!! i got one just like it except not as cool! it took me half way through the video to reallize ur truck is my wallpaper! except it had silver rims on that pic. whats the tire size, and lift?

  • Nice rig bro. Is the back half custom or did it come as a kit? Looks sick anyhow. Good luck and happy wheelin'!

  • @frostbittenwaffle Thanks, I did the back half a few years ago.

  • Ever thought of decreasing tire pressure when going into the rocks???

  • @insanezj242

you need to read the other comments...

  • nice ZJ. did you build an interior cage over the A and B pillars? I can see the C and back half i'm assuming connect to the unibody frame. How is that holding up btw?

  • @american3g

Thanks, not yet one of these days I'll get around to it but for now I'm driving it every day. So I cant work on it. Its been like this for about 3 years now so far I haven't noticed any stress cracks or any metal fatigue. I put it through its paces, I also tow with it regularly.

To what? You don't even know what they where at...... Your assuming I had too much pressure, I assure you I did not. They where at 8psi front and rear respectively. With out bead-locks that's pretty much as low as I could go without losing the bead.

  • what kinda wheels and tires are those? They look awesome, want some on my ZJ after i lift it up

  • Did you chop the back yourself?

  • @suicidewarpig Yep I've done all of the work on this truck myself.

  • what trail is that?

  • @MrDavidadeleon

Its Jeff's Playground at Hidden Falls just after the trail was cut.

  • you got to air down dude. you shouldve had no problem with a lift like that.

  • it was at 8psi front and rear any more and I would have been slipping the bead all day. The real problem was the steep incline and loose dirt and rocks.

  • Congrats. Other question: Was not enough the hydro assist? Why spooling the front and selectable locker rear? maybe be better a front selectable and rear spooled? Do you think in a doubler or underdrive or similar in the next future? I loved the chero! Congrats again.

  • The hydro assist creates some problems, First it doesn't give enough control for wheel wobble, second it still utilizes the linkage. This is a problem because of how much flex the front end has, it bottoms out the high angle tie rod end and wants to rip my steering box off (not a problem if I limited the travel). I spooled the front because I have locking hubs, so when I drive on the road it doesn't spin the internals. I put the locker in the rear to eliminate wheel hop when turning.

  • What are the next steps? Doubler? Beadlocks?

  • The next upgrades plan on doing are a 360 stroked to a 406, a new transmission, 5.38's, 40" LTB's, Reid racing knuckles, and maybe some weld on bead locks.

  • Nice!! Specs please.

  • Thanks, Its a 1998 Jeep Grand, with the mostly stock 5.2L. 231 t-case, 39.5X16.5R15 Pitbull rockers, Dana 60 spooled with 35 spline chromoly shafts and 5.13 gears, the rear is a 14 bolt with an ARB and 5.13's. I put hydro assist on it, but might change it later to full hydro, I drive it on the street still so I'm not sure when.
