Subhanallah, he spoke the truth, when I used to listen to music, I could not stand to hear the quran, it was almost hurtful to my ears. Now I find peace in it. I love music but its not worth an inch or even an atom of my Imaan.
I am muslim i love hip hip i listen to it everyday of my life and i am thinking of being a rapper when i grow up. This guy is so right. my mum so religious she listen to naats Soon as she puts it on i get so annoyed with it i tell her to turned it off. This gut makes complete sense.
4 months ago I decided to stop listening to music. So I replaced all my songs with the recitation of the Noble Quran. Then Saitan caught me after a month and I replaced Quran recitation with music. In the same week I discovered that my iPhone ear speaker is no longer working. I tried every solution on the internet and took to the shop even they couldn't fix it. I realized it's a punishment from Allah and it served me right. Now I've got a new iPhone and synced Quran recitation half and hour ago.
@perfectchronic Good for you! We're all so proud! <33333 Keep it up! Because the few things I've noticed in my non-muslim friends is that they spend so much time on Facebook causing fights for no good reason at all, and they recite the WORST lines from the WORST music possible. I'm so happy to be a Muslim..It changes your whole perspective for the world.
I hate music and I'm 14 years old soo it's NOT a excuse to say I'm young music is ok Allah will forgive music is absolutely forbidden also Islamic nasheed is Same waste instead make remembrance of Allah n increase in knowledge
Only stupid people listen to music, there are no benefits in listening to music
you do not understand what they are telling you in the music its all just a load of lies they tell, The music artist do not care about you they dont know you they just want your money, so you have to be smarter than that, Please just listen to quran every single day it will help
"The music artist do not care about you they dont know you they just want your money, so you have to be smarter than that, Please just listen to quran every single day it will help"
Absolutely agree!
Qur'an 12:104: And you (O Muhammad SAW) do not ask of them for it any payment (the Quran). It (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder and an advice unto the 'Alameen (mankind, jinn & all that exists).
This guy is right. After I listen to these type of songs, and hear recitation of the qu'ran I get that weird feeling as though the shaitan is telling me to stop listening to it. And this guy's statement is legit, time is one of the MOST valuable thing Allah (SWT) have given us humans.

I agree that Nouman Ali Khan does try and relate evidences and texts to real life, engaging the audience.
I do not know what scholars you are referring to or what references you are referring to, but we do value textual evidences greatly. The Quran itself is an evidence, as are the hadith clearly prohibiting music.
@darklight254 I do respect Hadiths but its the interpretation that i dont accept sometimes. It's just that it took me a long time to find a video that has a convincing contention about the prohibition of music in Islam . Thanks for your polite response i really appreciate it :)
I have never liked music, eventhough i tried to like because its supposed to be cool, i cant follow it, and always listen to Quran and find happiness like no other in it.
@joniindo78 Jazaka Allahu Khairan. This is what many don't see when they let the media manipulate their understanding of Islam. I've lived my life as an honest man & always asked for honesty from others. Many would rather talk behind your back than tell you what they think. But I know that when my brother tells me I haven't done something correct in relation to Islam - he is telling me because he cares for me & wants to see me in Paradise. Insha Allah, is always the answer!

Also remember the freemasonic messages in todays music which ur subconsciously being affected by it.

Brother, a very insightful explaination of why hip-hop is no good. All music serves to manipulate how you think & act.
La hawla wala quwata illa billah.
While I enjoy music of all sorts, nothing compares to listening to one reciting the Qur'an. Insha-Allah, I may live long enough to recite it myself.
I've only reverted a year ago, and have a long way to go to perfect my practice of Islam.
