@tubub Well he could put more help to Katrina and the huge ass deficit without having to deal with 9/11. You and I cannot know how it would have played out without 9/11.
You make it sound like 9/11 was the greatest tragedy America ever had. In terms of foreign policy, it be fighting for 5th. It was not excusable for every giant mistake and misstep he made, which were plenty. Bush was at best a very mediocre president, and certainly was not the kind of rallying and wise leader we needed after 9/11.
You're right we can't know how it would've played out without 9/11, but we know Bush's 2000 policies like tax cuts were disastrous
@Predeka "who" not "how." "vote" not "vot." "correctly" not "right." "Americans" not "amaricans." Stupid should be capitalized and the statement should end with either a period or an exclamation.. Also, there are no correct answers in voting. As with any decision, one should vote based on the information available and personal beliefs. @Predeka Sigh.. Again, the first letter in a sentence should be capitalized, so too with Sweden. You should have a comma between the words "day" and "I". The third sentence also starts with a lowercase letter. "Only" is redundant and "dume" is spelled "dumb." You have improved in your sentence structure somewhat, for that I congratulate you!

Say what Lord Mush? You tried to spend your meager political capital on destroying social security after the 2004 election. Sure you gave tax money back but that has helped doom the US treasury in the medium term. And we won't get into your trying to find ways of going after Saddam from Jan. 22, 2001 onward.
President Gore would have made sure that 9/11 never occurred, just as Bill Clinton put stop to the millenial attacks. McCain most likely would have stopped the 9/11 attacks too.
@DracoMalfoy87 If these programs were to be canceled, there WOULD be no refund. America is trillions of dollars in debt. The whole social security thing is almost running like a Ponzi scheme now. The only thing that's paying the CURRENT retiree generation is the money from the younger generations. If this process were ever to be "canceled," there WOULD be no refund.
the sad fact is if americans had caught on sooner that Bush was behind 9/11 we would not have senselessly killed thousands of humans. and for what...freedom and democracy? No for Oil and giving republicans more money than they need or deserve. And no I'm not saying all republicans are bad but politically they're bleeding us to death

No. You should go back in time and live it up in the Soviet Union you ignorant asshole.

The middle class is what drives the economy. Every credible economist in the world knows this. I think someone making $1 million a year con certainly afford to pay 75% of that and still get off fine. The rich don't create jobs, businesses do.
Studies have shown that virtually everyone agrees that the rich can afford to pay more and should pay more. What do you need it all for? Investing in companies that don't do anything for anyone other than the rich?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i am not about to go and by a corvette just because i can afford it. i want to leave my five children as much money as i can. obama is killing my dream. If you want to play that game rich people run the businesses.
There isn't any one class that drives the economy. Money flows freely between each class, so the poor and middle class obviously have to be larger than the rich. Diminishing the efficiency of any one group will hurt the others. That's why taxing anyone is generally harmful to the economy. The rich provide goods and jobs for the rest. The middle and lower class provide a labor and consumer marker for the rich. Trying to mess with that balance or engineer it in some way is usually destructive.
Having an ENORMOUS middle class and very tiny lower and upper classes is widely accepted and proven to be the best economic system. It's been known since Plato's time.
This is a trickle up economy. The more wealth at the bottom and middle the more stable the economy. When the wealth is at the top the foolish acts of a few can get us all in trouble.
Bush just had a piss poor congress that refused to reform Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac and spent way too much money and got us deeper into debt. Bush liberated two countries and eliminated a large portion of the terrorist threat in those countries.
hmmm. tax breaks to the wealthy is good. corporate welfare is socialism and it is going to ruin our country. the government has no right to intrude on business. if the big corporations get this welfare why cant the small car wash on main street get corporate welfare. spend spend spend is all you democunts ever do
I'm an independent thank you very much. Tax breaks to the wealthy is not good at all. They don't need it and don't want it. I've never seen a wealthy person ASK for a tax break.
Even Adam Smith, the "father" of capitalism understands that government has an important right to intrude on business. Left unregulated, you get problems like what we have now and what happened in the 1920s.
anyone wealthy who voted for mccain asked for a tax break. The problem is is that this is economic discrimination. You cant cut one end and raise the other. It isn't fair. It is robin hood economics. The middle class does not create jobs, the upper class does. Who are you to tell us we cant afford it, we don't deserve that money, we dont need that money. To that i say fuck you. We already pay a higher percantage and that is OK but when there is that much of difference, it is bullshit
Obama won the $200,000 plus demographic. I think that certainly tells whether they care about higher taxes. Bush did just that. He effectively cut one end and raised the other. It may not seem that way because he numerically cut everyone, but he shifted the burden downward on the economic spectrum.
I would love for main street to get welfare. And Republicans do most of the spending. Reagan and both Bushes have spent spent spent, ran up the deficit. Clinton was able to turn it back into a surplus finally. Hopefully, Obama can do the same, but it'll probably take well over 8 years considering the damage done by Bush.
that was all we had to worry about back then, medicare, social security, and making everything free so that people with huge suvs could pay for their 92 cent a gallon gas.
Name another president that could have got us threw 9/11 better than him? Dont blame hard times on him, he is A cause but look at the house and senate the last 2 years. Where is the power? I relize and understand he is the one that must answer all the questions when times are tough, but who really has more power? Bush or the house and senate?
The Bush Admin completely ignored numerous high risk threats from Al Qaeda in the days before 9/11. Gore or McCain probably would have acted on these by deploying some FBI teams to arrest them all and we wouldn't be anywhere near where we are today.
The John McCain of 2000 could had been better than Bush (see his ads of YouTube as well). Al Gore had a mix of Clinton and Obama policies that really would had helped this country.
im kind of mixed on this issue with gore because clinton had been saying all along that bin laden was all talk after failing in 93 and saddam was the real problem and he even told bush that. i think gore might have been fed the same BILLshit but then again who knows.
Actually his education bill he proposed passed with help from Ted Kennedy. His income tax cut proposal passed with the help of Dems like Zell Miller. The death tax was phased out, howbeit with sunset provisions that must be renewed before 2010, but it is likley Obabama and a Dem Congress will bring the tax back. Military spending has increased substantially. Bush failed to reform Social Security after a good effort, but the things in this ad, were done. You may not like them, but they were done.
that's funny. i actual said & thought that exact thing before he was first elected. i thought this guy was scary & was going to bring disaster & all out war. i actually thought it would be worse than it turned out.
I remember when I was in 5th grade, we did a mock election in our classroom and Bush won, I remember all our teachers laughing in smile and glee because my teachers obviously wanted Bush.
I wonder if they're smiling and laughing now.
Sorry to be Debby Downer, but when I did the "mock" election back in 2000, I kind of envisioned a different world than what it has become in 2008.
All I've seen over 8 years is Democracy seemed to have lost its definition of the PEOPLE in charge of the government.
Social security, he tried really hard. Congress blocked it unfortunately. Education, he passed the No Child Left Behind Act. Test scores have since skyrocketed. Military- strengthened. He did cut taxes and the marriage penalty. And charitable giving, he did that as well.
one question. what politician can you name that keeps to their promises? 5th grade student council president or president of the U.S. it makes no difference. i cant wait to see the ways obama lets this country down if he wins. if you thought bush was bad...
i really like how liberals like you refuse to take in information if they disagree with it and start spewing words like ignorance. and you either didnt read my comment or youre just impeccablly stupid but i said no politician keeps most of their promises. i never said bush has kept a promise (even though he has) so why are you asking me to name one? you make no sense
Actually nomeatsteak, howardofoz is right. The stock market crash was the result of what he stated and the Great depression was caused by the stock market crash. So you are both right. He just went further back.
Wow, in eleven years, preserving Social Security and Medicare are NOT Republican ideals anymore.

Geez Bush sure did age a hell of a lot since then.
eyeswideopen86 3 years ago 2
He sure did. But you know what's funny? It seems to me he did most of that aging between 2004 and 2006. (I say that based on video footage.)
It may not be coincidental that that was the period where he finally lost most of the public. The fast plummet took its toll.

Obama is not killing your dream. Whoever told you that is a liar.

Who do you think owns businesses you dumbass?
mackdan7 3 years ago
There isn't any one class that drives the economy. Money flows freely between each class, so the poor and middle class obviously have to be larger than the rich. Diminishing the efficiency of any one group will hurt the others. That's why taxing anyone is generally harmful to the economy. The rich provide goods and jobs for the rest. The middle and lower class provide a labor and consumer marker for the rich. Trying to mess with that balance or engineer it in some way is usually destructive.
dbmcmillan 3 years ago
Having an ENORMOUS middle class and very tiny lower and upper classes is widely accepted and proven to be the best economic system. It's been known since Plato's time.
kirby4d 3 years ago 15
This is a trickle up economy. The more wealth at the bottom and middle the more stable the economy. When the wealth is at the top the foolish acts of a few can get us all in trouble.
tombstonetom 3 years ago

Bush just had a piss poor congress that refused to reform Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac and spent way too much money and got us deeper into debt. Bush liberated two countries and eliminated a large portion of the terrorist threat in those countries.

these tax cuts brought us out of the clinton recession jackass and as i said above, these problems started when democunts took majority
quadropheniabellboy 3 years ago
so this is the bush recession?
kirby4d 3 years ago
no, this is the pelosi/reid recession
quadropheniabellboy 3 years ago
Really now? Pelosi and Reid started a trillion-dollar war, Pelosi and Reid gave tax breaks to the insanely wealthy and increased corporate welfare.
kirby4d 3 years ago
hmmm. tax breaks to the wealthy is good. corporate welfare is socialism and it is going to ruin our country. the government has no right to intrude on business. if the big corporations get this welfare why cant the small car wash on main street get corporate welfare. spend spend spend is all you democunts ever do
quadropheniabellboy 3 years ago
I'm an independent thank you very much. Tax breaks to the wealthy is not good at all. They don't need it and don't want it. I've never seen a wealthy person ASK for a tax break.
Even Adam Smith, the "father" of capitalism understands that government has an important right to intrude on business. Left unregulated, you get problems like what we have now and what happened in the 1920s.
kirby4d 3 years ago 3
anyone wealthy who voted for mccain asked for a tax break. We already pay a higher percantage and that is OK but when there is that much of difference, it is bullshit
quadropheniabellboy 3 years ago
Obama won the $200,000 plus demographic. I think that certainly tells whether they care about higher taxes. Bush did just that. He effectively cut one end and raised the other. It may not seem that way because he numerically cut everyone, but he shifted the burden downward on the economic spectrum.
kirby4d 3 years ago
i never said the majority of them did. That way works it brought us out of a recession.
quadropheniabellboy 3 years ago
I would love for main street to get welfare. And Republicans do most of the spending. Reagan and both Bushes have spent spent spent, ran up the deficit. Clinton was able to turn it back into a surplus finally. Hopefully, Obama can do the same, but it'll probably take well over 8 years considering the damage done by Bush.

Gore or McCain probably would have acted on these by deploying some FBI teams to arrest them all and we wouldn't be anywhere near where we are today.
kirby4d 3 years ago 10
The John McCain of 2000 could had been better than Bush (see his ads of YouTube as well). Al Gore had a mix of Clinton and Obama policies that really would had helped this country.
pannoni1 3 years ago 3
AL GORE WOULD NOT HAVE HELPED OUR COUNTRY. John McCain in 2000 wouldve done much better than bush
quadropheniabellboy 3 years ago
im kind of mixed on this issue with gore because clinton had been saying all along that bin laden was all talk after failing in 93 and saddam was the real problem and he even told bush that. i think gore might have been fed the same BILLshit but then again who knows.

PoliticalJunke 3 years ago
Actually his education bill he proposed passed with help from Ted Kennedy. His income tax cut proposal passed with the help of Dems like Zell Miller. The death tax was phased out, howbeit with sunset provisions that must be renewed before 2010, but it is likley Obabama and a Dem Congress will bring the tax back. Military spending has increased substantially. Bush failed to reform Social Security after a good effort, but the things in this ad, were done. You may not like them, but they were done.
