  • What was the setlist?

  • Do they play some old stuff on the new tours?

  • @Sargatha Ya I saw them in Denver back in October and they played Credence (of of My Arms) The Face of Melinda (off of Still Life) Closure (off of Damnation) A Fair Judgement (off of Deliverance) and a few other oldies that I honestly can't remember anymore.

  • i am so excited to see them live on sunday. they will be absolutely amazing

  • Musician par Excellence

  • wow - he sounds just like he does on the record. not many singers can do that. must be amazing to see live.

  • @Cheximus

Opeth has always been amazing life. Nothing has changed.

  • @Cheximus I agree--saw them live near Pittsburgh on Halloween night this year and they were amazing.

  • @Cheximus Not many singers are of Mikael's calibre! =D The greatest singer in the world.. His versatility is unmatched! His live performances REEK of class... And his general song-writing ability has been teh GREATEST gift our generation could have received!

  • Dude, Holy fuck. When I went to go see them they were fucking incredible. Like FUCKING FUCK.

  • so after the devils orchard was over did security pass out sleeping bags and cartons of milk to help the fans fall asleep quicker than the music made them?.

  • Seeing this makes me realize just how petty it is to criticize Opeth's newest work. You see that they have created a vision here that is unique yet classical, and they LIVE it, man. This is true passion for your musical child.

  • God Is Dead. Opeth is NOT.

  • This song this entire album are pretty dead on what Opeth should be doing. It rules massively.

  • @metabog

    Yes Metabog. Fuck Yes.

  • hell yeah i saw them live at the rave! they opened with that song too :D

  • has mikael lost weight?

  • @leviathandacri RIP TO YOU NOT JUST DIE ALREADY

  • The vocals are fantastic!

  • @leviathandacri it's indeed Metal. Just not the mainstream modern metal.

  • @leviathandacri

omg man u're posting this in every opeth video now...get a life or play with your super metal band and stop bitching

  • God disliked this.

  • @theHaxprocessor

    God is Dead.

  • @pobomm

...Oh yeah. Well, that is actually what I was getting at. He disliked it because Mikael proclaims him to be dead in the song. But I guess it wasn't him.... then who was it? Maybe David Isberg....

  • @theHaxprocessor

    Friedrich Nietzsche

  • @pobomm

But why would Nietzsche dislike "God is Dead"? He would agree with that statement...

  • @pobomm Kevin Moore.

  • They look so metal while playing. Kinda funny. Opeth rulz!

  • Saw Opeth by accident at the PRS convention in Maryland. :D

  • @Sm1thers1boy

    Cool. Did you say hello?

  • @pobomm Nah the guys were elusive. I got to see them perform, but I didn't get to talk to them or anything.

  • I was there too! Killer show, beautiful stage set too

  • Im gonna see Opeth in Atlanta today bitches!

  • Nice! can't wait til Saturday when they hit my zip code!

  • They'll be in Dallas next week (5/10). Third time seeing them... Going to be incredible I'm sure.

  • looking forward to seeing them at the Beaumont club in KC on the 6th

  • amazingggg!!!! i might be going to see them in ATL. i hope i can!!

  • Wish people would stop bloody shouting ^^

  • Seeing them when they hit Arizona in Oct. Not too surprised at the setlist considering the new album material. I've seen them touring in support of Deliverance/Damnation so i've seen a (mostly) mellow Opeth set before, so i'm not too let down about what they are touring with for Heritage.

  • this was such a good show! AHHHHHHHHHH.

  • This was my second Opeth show. They had a SICK setlist last time. I was pleased to hear some of the stuff that they did here, like Porcelain Heart and A Fair Judgment. Keep in mind that this IS the Heritage tour and that might be why they decided to do a softer set, to stay true to the new album.

  • Well, I am really glad I got to see them when they still played death metal. I was about to drop $50 for me and my gf to go see them next week, but now I don't want to go anymore. I loved their old acoustic stuff, but honestly I haven't liked most of their recent mellow stuff, and the new album basically blows. And this is coming from someone with their logo tattooed on his arm.

  • @novembre8211

I stopped recording to rock the fuck out is what.

  • @pobomm I understand that, I would've done the same thing

  • @pobomm sometimes hard to hold the camera when headbanging or moving haha

  • @pobomm During the "mellow" change up??? LOL

  • It seems he won't be doing the death metal voice on this tour at all, please guys give me a little bit of information on it, I have not seen them since PN08 and I was looking forward to see them again but I'm feeling kinda bummed out about the set list. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK as to your opinion

  • @puertoctavarican He will still do death growls. He just did not do them on Heritage. He said hes not done doing them. Its just a different album.

  • @puertoctavarican I saw them last night. No death growls, no death metal. They play Face of Melinda, A Fair Judgement, Porcelain Heart, and Hex Omega. That is the only metal they play. Personally, I was disappointed. It was my first Opeth show and I missed out on what I love most about them. For what it was, it was an amazing show, just not what I hoped it would be. If you can sit through a 2 hour set of mellow songs, you will enjoy it. If you want to hear death metal, not so much...

  • @turquoiseguy I'm seeing them in November. Will be my 1st Opeth show too, so I still have some quiet hope for one or more death metal songs..

  • @onnovz02 It was my first Opeth show to, and I was pretty upset I didn't get to hear any death metal. I had the same hopes going into the show. Don't count on the setlist changing though. I'll try and catch them one more time next tour, hopefully by then they will have modified their set.

  • @turquoiseguy Agreed. I wanted to see the death metal vocals, but on the other hand the acoustic section they had during the concert was awesome.

  • @turquoiseguy I wouldn't call it 'mellow' songs. It's just a different genre, progressive rock. It's a bit softer than progressive death metal - but I really like the album. But then, I don't only listen to Opeth, I got albums from Transatlantic, Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Porcupine Tree etc.

  • @Thystonius I have never heard of Transatlantic, but all those others bands I listen too and love. I did enjoy Heritage, I'll be honest, it was my least favorite so far by them, but I do think it was really good nonetheless. I was only upset because I didn't get to hear any death metal, and I didn't think the set was very fair to all the fans who payed expecting at least a couple death metal songs.

  • @puertoctavarican seems to me like you should be respecting and loving this band even more. perfect album in my opinion, stamps their history

  • Thanks for the upload. I was there :)

  • That's damn tight for the 1st new song on the 1st night of the tour! I see'em in about 10 days and I'm gettin' amped!

  • @paintbynight

    Blew me right away.

  • thanks for upload!!! i love heritage

  • Wow...that was flawless.
