  • actually the older one seems to crank easier under pressure something i have notice an a few other people have also mentioned...the old ones are going fast an are actually increasing in value...i see beat up ones going on ebay for $100

  • he is awful at, at ,at pres..presenting!!

  • Awful voiceover

  • (surf casting) anyone know how the bail holds up? does it fail alot or no?

would it be better to modify it to be bailless or not? i'm sure the baitrunner would only work by the trigger and not the crank no more...

anyone know if bailless is a better option? 8000d

  • whats the shimano baitrunner 6000 like ?

  • should i get the 4000D or 6000D for surf casting? need to hold maybe 300yards of 20lb braided.....is the reel too heavy??

  • Can it be used for jigging?

  • great reel.. shimano baitrunner :))

  • I'm a saltwater fishing guide and just had a client bring one aboard for a tarpon trip. We hooked a 6 ft. bull shark and he landed it very quickly on a heavy spinning rod. Youtube; KGull. The drag worked great and he was able to cast his bait easier than our penn 4.0 reels. Now I'm shopping for one. Much better than the old 6500 that doesn't hold up with heavier power-pro line.

  • Carlos, good review, only you did not mention the baitrunner feature of the reel, which is the main reason for buying it.

They have also revised the direction of the baitrunner switch, its now "on" ie in free spool mode when pulled back. I find this is better as its out of the way when its "off".

  • @rutilus99 Thanks for mentioning it for me!

These reels are HOT this season. Fishermen have been scooping them up. Great fighting reel and extremely versatile.

  • It's cheaper on eBay.. 140-160$ free shipping.. No tax and still has warranty I called shimano myself..

  • what type of rod would you recommend for BTR4000D and BTR6000D?

  • @voltertsap What kind of fish are you targeting? It depends...we've got plenty of options.

  • @HaddrellsPoint mostly stripers and blues, i only fish salt water

  • @voltertsap Shimano Trevala or Teramar 6'6" - 7'0" rods. Ugly Stick 7'0", GLoomis Pro Green 7'4" - 7'7". You can find all of these on the Haddrells Point website. Feel free to email us for more detailed answers.

  • @HaddrellsPoint

I have a 6'6" Trevala. I was thinking a 6000D, good choice?. My 4500B is too big for the rod (which is comparible to the 8000).

  • Great reel :) brought the 6000D

  • I have two of them and it's a really great reel.

    I bought it for 120 €.

  • my next reel ... i buy the 4000 D :)

  • how much does it cost?

  • Depending which of the four models you choose, they cost anywhere between 159.99-189.99. Check out our website for more info. We have plenty of all the models in-stock. Mention this video and we'll offer Free Shipping.
