Dude, the pornography thing was just a cover-up to place the blame full on the pastor's character and to focus away attention from the church preached/sang at. It's an absolute disgrace. And as you say, this is just another in a long line of religious frauds. But watch the videos, people are still going to his church! I mean, won't they ever learn? Yep, people should believe whatever they like, but we should not allow them to be ripped off continuously by religious organizations and rackets.
Its because for so long the church has ignored the fact that we really have these issues in our churches. People really do sin and not just in there past but on a daily basis. We preach it, teach it, live it, but we never real acknowledge it. For so long people have been scared to tell the church what there real issue is because of the response we as christians give. It comes down to really rather your a pastor laymen or a guy on the street " when u wake up who are you gonna live for that day"
i'm almost speechless because you totally pin pointed what the church has become. crazy when you read about the life of Christ how bad he wanted to be around these people we so quickly turn away. we miss the point much to often.
He needs to declare that he is free from this addiction then to keep feeding power to his addiction...he needs help and I know God can help him if he only is willing to be helped by the grace of God. If he keeps believing he's an addict then he will continue to be an addict...
Mike Guglielmucci's exposure is an example of the dangers that are bred within the Hillsong community. That is because Brian Houston and Hillsong breed and condition people for money and business. So after awhile, the people will become so focused on money and "success" that they will even sell their souls and lie to get it. It's a very dangerous people at Hillsong, and is more like a networking marketing business than a Church. If anyone truly love Jesus, then come out of this worldly place.
Your comments are disgusting, even from a biblical and Christian perspective. It's a great sin so sweep lies and deception under the carpet and just reason, "oh well, that's ok, he is a sinner and we all sin, and so we should just ignore it". It's the demonic attitude that you have displayed that encourages people, especially Christians to commit horrific sins, because they reason its ok, they are a sinner, so its ok to sin. But NO, we need to hold them accountable.

Brian Houston and members of HillSong have always been misled by many theological issues. Brian does not interpret the Scriptures correctly and he is running a business, not a Church. And Michael Guglielmucci is a typical bi-product of the deception within Hillsong, where they breed mentally ill and fanatical people. And now he is deceiving the people again by trying to tap into their emotions and acting like he is sorry.
YEE YEE... nicely said man...nicely said... the sad thing is that so many people who are pointing these fingers can be just as guilty with a tongue of malice and hate...yet are they looking to cure their disease... at least MG had a big enough heart to come forward... and for me...that makes the song Healer all the more powerful
uhm...they ar giving all that money back.He struggles with insecurity. He didnt do anything for money(look at interviews). You cant ask ppl to defend him...thats what Jesus did on the cross. so how would you own any1/ thats jesus' title...
Hillsong have tens of millions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they donate less than 15% of that money . . . . . . to other christian based organisations.
They recently boasted about donating $106,000 to world vision . . . . thats 0.3% of their yearly income. Why bother boasting about that?
They recently planned to spend over 64-million on a new building in sydney.
This is not a religion, its a cancer. A cancer that was backed by the liberal party for many many years.
MG, God has forgiven you. Forgive yourself. God's grace is fresh every day. All the more I thank God for Jesus, whose blood has washed all my sins, who proclaimed His love by laying down His life for me. He who had given His life for me doesn't condemn me anymore, neither should I condemn myself when I fall into sin, but praise Him for His mercy and grace. . . let's all lean on Jesus' complete work at Calvary. You and I are not perfect, that's why we need Jesus' perfect work at the cross
I think that you have a good point. When Jesus came to this earth he did heal people physically but really what he came for was to heal us of our SIN!!!! GOD BLESS :)
I hesitated to open this video because I thought the topic was going to be anger and disappointment but I am happy I did. It's inspiring to see a young person respond with such maturity and discerment. ONLY GOD IS TRUTH
I agree with you. Thanks for such a peaceful message. The crazy thing (to me) is that as followers of Christ, we need to get in our word, read it, get it inside of us, renew our minds daily- and when we KNOW God's word and it becomes welded within us, we can rise up in power and avoid falling into the kind of temptations Michael and many others fall into. I'm just praying for everyone who has been hurt by this; it was a shock to my husband and I also.
This is what MG said himself in a letter to his church.
""Two years ago, I reported that I was suffering from cancer, the truth is that although I was ill I did not have cancer but was again using the misdiagnosis to hid the lie that I was living."
Even in this he has tried to soften the blow with the misleading word 'misdiagnosis'.
This tells me that he is still quite willing to bend the truth to suit. He needs SERIOUS mental help, the christianity has so far got him no where!
Unfounded. He went on national tv and confessed his "misdiagnosis" to be a cover for a 16yr addiction to pornography, hes finished with bending the truth and hes getting back on his feet. Ive encountered some of your other attacking comments and I realize that you dont believe in God, but I will tell you that He is experiencing God's grace as we speak and it is because he has had the boldness to (COME OUT FROM THE SHADOWS!) His family, the Christian church is going to help him, give him a break.
I say Amen to you brother. Integrity is important and the real "cancer" in the church is the inpurity that is hidden inside our hearts. Stay blessed brother and keep on fighting this good fight of faith.
agree with everything you said bro! we need to be sensitive to God, let him change us, heal us, transform us into the beautiful vessels of Light and purity he has called us to be. Then we gotta FIGHT cause satan hates our beauty!
This is why I find the claims of the bible to be untenable.
I gave being a christian all that was in me for eight years. There eventually came a time when I have to face the real truth...I hope this sad event brings a few thoughtful and intelligent folks around to seeing reality.
I'm sure it will probably just drive most believers even deeper into the delusion....that really is the biggest tragity of all.
I just want you to know I am sorry... I am not sure what all happened in your life but I seriously am interested in hearing your WHOLE story... You can email me or I can give you my cell #... I am sorry for anytime people from "church" have hurt you or put you down!
Can you agree that the claims of the bible are naturally impossible to have occered. You know the parts I'm talking about...they could not have happened naturally, so, I just don't believe that they in fact did happen. Pretty simple.
I'm aware this question isn't directed at me, rather at the maker of this video.
However, I would agree with you, many things in the bible are naturally impossible, however, and I'm sure you can see this coming, if you place God in the equation, then things that are naturally impossible for us are possible for him, and therefore, happened. Or at the very least, such things are possible.
To say that he was addicted to porn and therefore needed hundreds of thousands of dollars is by far the biggest lie he has told yet.
No one questions it any further though . . . . thats the basis of religion I guess, dont think and dont question.
No sane person tells their own parents that they're going to die. If religion gives us anything, it certainly gives us multitues of mentally unstable people like Michael.
You assume that Christianity creates mentally unstable people which it doesn't. Now although he's made his mistakes, it's essentially no bigger than no other sins that I have committed, only difference is, his was reported on the news. But "don't think and don't question" being the basis of religion? Have you ever considered the possiblity that people who don't question, say, God's existence, don't question it purely because of the strength of their faith, and not because they're deluded?
Thanks TOTU, To witness the gulibility of believers is so interesting. I have little hope that anything we post will effect them in the slightest, but, I was just like them and I got free....the improbable does occasionally occur. :)
TOTU.. mentally unstable people? you can find them everywhere, whether they believe in Christ or not.
Mike G. definitely needs help. But if anything i think it makes the point that whether we know Jesus or not, we're all vulnerable to do some pretty "dumb" things and be "unstable people". in other words.. we're still all equals.
unbelievers tend to look at christians as "crazy people" while a lot of christians look at unbelievers as being "damned". it's really a huge problem.
Well, I think one claim of the bible is certainly the most logical one by far which explains how we're all here in the first place. Think about it, a primary law of science is cause and effect, now we see the effect, but where's the cause? The big bang? But what started that I wonder?
Probably the oldest (and worst) arguments in the book. What caused God...? If He's eternal then infinite existence is possible. Why not imagine a pre-big bang eternal universe? They are both guesses but "God did it" explains nothing.
But even so, ontology takes effect, you'd need something before the "pre-big bang" universe. Although it seems unsatisfactory at first, it's the only explaination that actually makes complete sense.
I dont believe in any gods or invisable men in the sky, and as for the BIG BANG . . . I dont know, so I dont have an opinion on that.
I do think that its a very human thing to think that everything has to have a start and finnish.
Everything else in our lives has a start and a finnish, but not matter. I dont think the cosmos was ever born, and I realy dont think its ever going to dissapear up its own arse-hole either.
Something has to always BE . . . . and the cosmos is it.
So the universe existed? So how did we get here? and if you're suggesting cause and effect for your answer, then the cosmos can't always have been, because something must come before it. The only thing that exists above this rule is God, for this very reason. God is infinite, he's existed infinitely before this message and will exist infinitely beyond it, how? Because he's omnipotent. God was here before the world, there's no real disputing what the bible says on this point. God bless.
@billybee53 The fact that you said that you gave it all you had for eight years, means that you really didn't give it all you had. If you gave it all your had you will still be giving it. After eight years, you stopped believing. We all have reasons to stop believing, at any time. However, I have lived life without believing and I lived life believing. A life believing God is much better to me. I hope it well be to others.
Gods mercy on us EVERY DAY is so awesome hey? This man, i make no excuse for what he has done, but the Lord said himself "THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NO SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE." From the moment His blood was shed on the cross till now not one human being on this planet can or ever will pick up a stone to cast it. WE ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALLEN SHORT OF HIS GLORY. We just need to do what God told us to do in the last days which is TO WATCH AND PRAY so that even the very elect(US) wont be deceived.
The reality is the God is all about healing our HEARTS. So, in some way, this song has just taken on a deeper meaning as we understand that God's in the process of healing Michael's heart, and not his body.
A lot of people is saying that they won't do Healer anymore because it was writin by a Fraud But I realy don't care who wrote it we need to see who the song was writin for, this is the most powerful song I have ever hear and that song has deaply touched me, I will do this song not for Mike Guglielmucci or any other Human but I will worship God with this song with all my heart, mind, and strength!!!!
God Bless you guys and remember everyone sins and I know God forgives, so why shouldn't we.
Dear James: You have a compassionate heart, (which is a fruit of the Spirit), anyways my advice to all believers is to always go back to the WORD (the Bible) for all inspiration and guidiance. The response to his confession is the result of us believers looking to "entertainers" rather than the WORD who is Jesus. I don't profess to be perfect and Christians should judge, let's all look to the PERFECT ONE, who is JESUS, the LORD. Take care.
In the bible it says that satin was the angel of music. so do you think that he is trying to lead people away from christ through MUSIC? i dont think so... but only god can help mike, so we just need to pray.
"the world is comming to an end" ??? Is this the thought and idea that you carry around every day? Is that the positive outlook on life that religion has taught you? There are tens of millions of people that think just like you and it does nothing positive for humanity at all.
ritikos91, our planet earth might end one day when our sun blows up, but I'm guessing it will be a few billion years from now. The world wont be ending any time soon dude.
Religion, or at least Christianity does not teach people to look at life positively. It teaches people the REALITY of life. It does not say "Do this to keep harm from coming to you" but rather "Embrace problems to come out victorious in Christ"
What has Christianity taught me with the knowledge that the world is coming to an end? We have limited time to do all we can for the other people who are suffering on this earth, so let's go full force!
So much for "Doing nothing positive for humanity"..
Look at the earth, face reality TwoOppThumbsUp. What can science contribute to global warming? At the rate it is going, what can science do? Please face reality and stop living in fantasy.
i went to hillsong. I heard this guy's dad speak at our college and I was touched by his speaking. I think you're right, its not just this one guy but the whole church in general that has a problem. While I was at Hillsong, there existed this strong pressure to be on stage and be noticed. They even had the term "rising pastors" for those succeeding. a bunch of bullshit. faith in a man rather than in a God.
I truly respect Pastor Brian and Hillsong Church. I am sure he would tell you that no place, no not even church, is perfect because we aren't perfect. Faith in God empowers me to have faith in people pursuing God and allows me to not judge or take the place of God in their lives. Thanks for your comment.
The thing that I have learned (again) is never trust christians.

The song is still amazing, and your so right - every church has poeple who need to be healed of so many things...and nothing is impossible for Him!

I hope that comments would be clean.
Anyways, good video. It's true. It's sad to see things like this. But it only goes to show that the Word is true. The world is coming to an end.
However, the problem here is Mike and not Hillsong Church. I can't see why people can't separate the two.

The world wont be ending any time soon dude.

haha..how silly..
