  • Nice pull and typical for a stock 2010 GT500, those stating its inflated are wrong, case closed. With a 2.59in. pulley, better CAI and solid tune these cars can lay down 560+ rwhp and same for torque, my 2010 with the aforementioned laid down 566rwhp and 564 rwtq, on a mustang dyno no less. The 2010's have additional upgrades over the previous generation, most significantly a larger dual clutch set up and revised suspension. With mods these cars are absolute beasts!

  • I'm sure the dyno places are thrilled when they get a powerful motor in. Imagine running a million Hondas who's owners "need their numbers" so they can show off to their friends. And then a beauty like this shows up. I'm talking about the regular shops, might not pertain to this one.

  • I LOVE looking back at these old videos seeing the super inflated dyno numbers you guys come up with. That car will usually run about 450rwhp on a dynojet in any weather. 511rwhp is closer to pulley/cai/tune numbers. What a bunch of bullshit.

  • @braddfordy You fucking dumbass, I own one. I have an 09 GT500. My CAI/pulley/tune car made 535rwhp. But it made 450rwhp with just the car before the mods. The 2010 is nothing more than the 07-09 with a factory CAI. Add the pulley and tune to the 2010 and its the same HP numbers. And those cars dyno in the mod 400s pal. Check out real dyno runs, not these fake magazine ones. Fucking moron.

  • @LMBC6Brian youre the moron, theyre using the KR drivetrain which is a slightly more agressive tune, less restrictive exhaust and an intake, these "fake" magazine ones are done on a cold engine, with a hot engine youre looking at around 480rwhp, pulley, full intake and exhaust and these cars have done high 500rwhp.....cmon mate, the proof is right there in the video

  • @ADD8oi biggest bunch of bullshit. There is no such thing as a "KR" drive train. The KR had a factory CAI, slightly different tune and different mufflers. There is no difference here. Again, this car with the same mods will be the same as an 07 GT500. The other difference I forgot were knock sensors on the new car. Otherwise, its the same, and these numbers are so inflated it sick.

  • @LMBC6Brian lmao the KR had a different setup than the 07-09 GT500, sure same base block, same blower, however you have the less restrictive exhaust and intake with an agressive engine tune, same as the 2010s, literally every single tester got the same results with a cold engine, there were even a couple at the speed shop i got my turbos done that were running between 500-520rwhp on cold engines, and 07 GT500 makes roughly 450rwhp, the KR will lay down anywhere from 480-510rwhp

  • I just bought an 01 v6 turbo mustang bored to a 4.3, built, turbo'd with a built t5 and dyno'd at 500 hp and 500 tq to the rear wheels. I was wondering how a higher displacement engine that is also boosted makes less tq is that just because of the way it is set up or what? my first Mustang so I am curious about everything and trying to learn all I can.

  • you can make any dyno read any number. They all read different. put this same car on another dyno and it may read 450hp or it may read 600hp... Take these numbers with a grain of salt...

  • Problem with Top Gear is they're biased. They were making fun of our culture in that episode just as we haze them about the revolution. I don't consider Top Gear when I go shopping.

  • The 500 hp was rated at crank. Since about 15% is lost, they only got 450 rwhp, which isn't too bad considering 500hp - 15% = 425 rwhp. This one is rated at 540 hp from the factory, but it seems to be under rated.

  • Let me clarify, Ford rated the 500 hp at crank, not the wheels. So, when it gets 500 hp at the crank and approximately 15% of power is loss through the drivetrain (which is average) then you should expect about 425 rwhp. Rear wheel horsepower , or rwhp, is what you measure at a dyno like the one you see here, horsepower is measured with the engine out of the car, like you see in the 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 Dyno video.

  • EvilxMerlin-I know quite well what the new GT500 is capable of doing in the 1/4 mile with a skilled driver and some good rubber. That said, with the stock O.E.M. tires its mid to high 12's. We are not talking about "glory runs" Were talking "AVERAGES" from a number of sources. Yep, get better rubber and those 1/4 e.t. drop like hell. But on stock tires that just not the case. The Camaro SS comes with some decent rubber and maximize the use of its available power. The GT500 does not.
