It was called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles (UK and Europe) it's because they're not allowed to say "Ninja" as it means violent and fighting so that's why it was Hero Turtles not Ninja Turtles.
I never noticed that Michaelangelo's (meant to be Michelangelo) name was spelled wrong on the toys. I think it humorous that even companies continued the mistake spurred from the original comic. I am glad they finally fixed it though.

The bat looking one is Wing Nut, i got a good few of the ones you have but the best ones are the Movie ones, iv got some from the 1st and 3rd movie.
I was a hugh fan of TMNT growing up still have loads of the original Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird black and white graphic novels, but they are more adult, loads of ass kicking and bloody, nothing like the kids stuff.

Rocksteady is the same/diff series, the turtles you displayed though you are not the same figures. those are totally different series of the turtles as there was many different kinds. The soft head/ hard head versions were identical aside from the heads. The belt color were the same with the versions. The turtles you have there with the colored belts were from a diff. series. Best series by that co. was the movie turtles, they were all rubber pretty much and sweet looking.
I'd have to beg to differ the original toy line has nothing at all to do with the original comic. Not even sculpt wise. But you know what is cool I remember like a year ago i was at a hot topic and they actually have made new action figures that look like the original comic. But they are hard to find in stores, they definitely aren't sold at toys r us etc.
Wow, I was so into TMNT when I was growing up that I can still remember all the names of the characters you just mentioned. A lot of them like Dirtbag were never in the cartoon but were bosses in a lot of the video games.
OK, I can't shut up! What can I say-I love TMNT! Your figs and sorting them out- Here is my recommendation. Invest in some ziplock sandwich bags and a black marker or pen, and go to tmnttoys.com. This guy has the best TMNT archive that I know of. (For those reading this comment, DO NOT contact the guy about selling his figs. He is interested in buying or trading only what he does not have.) Sort out the accessories to your figs, put them in the zips, and write the name on the bag.
Oh yeah, and your variations had nothing to do with the cartoon, they were produced by Playmates in a lowly attempt to make money, and they were trying to avoid making new mutant characters. After fans of this toy starting demanding new mutant characters, Playmates gave in and starting making them. Some of the variant series that you have is Sewer Sports All Stars, Wacky Wild West, Rock N' Rollin', and Movie Star(probably the only cool variant series that they made).
Your TMNT with the colored belts and the shells that open up, are Storage Shell series. If you need accessories for your TMNT, let me know. I sell them on eBay and I have a website. I might have a hand for that Rocksteady figure too. Nice collection BTW!

I remember all those figures. My child hood friend used to collect those. I had a few but not as many as he did. He sold them all at a yard sale for $10 and he had about 35 figures. After he sold them he told me he was pissed off he did cause he wanted more money for them. He had at least $350 worth for $10.
i never really liked the idea of keeping them in value moc look at the 25th version with a dvd too me their worth alot more then the original but to each their own

This is great! So many "Aw! I used to have that guy!" moments. Seeing them in the old packaging brings back so many memories of standing in the TMNT aisle of Toys R Us trying to decide which figure I wanted so many years ago. the tmnt is based off marvels line of daredevil..they had the hand clan and daredevil went blind from a ooze that changed the turtles so on and so forth
Great video, I used to have some of those tmnt figures. I also had some of those mutants and i didn't even know they were from the ninja turtles, because i didn;t watch the cartoon. This video brings up some great memories.
Most of the TMNT toys were created just to sell more toys, they weren't actually in the cartoon. Like the turtles in other outfits and stuff. Some of them did appear in episodes though, including the samurai rabbit, the frogs with Hawaiian beach shirts, and Baxter Stockman. He's the fly character. I only have three of my original guys... Raph, Shredder, and Super Shredder.

Wow, I was so into TMNT when I was growing up that I can still remember all the names of the characters you just mentioned. A lot of them like Dirtbag were never in the cartoon but were bosses in a lot of the video games.

OK, I can't shut up! What can I say-I love TMNT! Your figs and sorting them out- Here is my recommendation. Invest in some ziplock sandwich bags and a black marker or pen, and go to tmnttoys.com. This guy has the best TMNT archive that I know of. (For those reading this comment, DO NOT contact the guy about selling his figs. He is interested in buying or trading only what he does not have.) Sort out the accessories to your figs, put them in the zips, and write the name on the bag.

Oh yeah, and your variations had nothing to do with the cartoon, they were produced by Playmates in a lowly attempt to make money, and they were trying to avoid making new mutant characters. After fans of this toy starting demanding new mutant characters, Playmates gave in and starting making them. Some of the variant series that you have is Sewer Sports All Stars, Wacky Wild West, Rock N' Rollin', and Movie Star(probably the only cool variant series that they made).

the second set of characters are the alian looking dude is called scumbag-casy jones like you said-general tragg-metalhead-slash-i think the one next to him is called chrome dome-don the undercover turtle-below you got fugitoid-rat king-WYRM-and the last one is mutagen man nice collection i have a complete 1988 hard head set all 10 on card and complete movie star turtles on card new TMNT and complete set of 2003 on card also have 75+ figures

Cool video! Brings back many memorys of my childhood im 28 now n also had a good collection of original figures growing up sadly i like many other sold them as i got older (what a mistake that was).. Im from the UK n the reason they was 'Hero' turtles over here is cos they thought the word 'ninja' promoted violence or somthing daft like that so it was changed for our region lol...
i used to have a camel figure wearing a fez hat from the turtle line i wonder if anyone knows his name on here??

I remember all those figures. My child hood friend used to collect those. I had a few but not as many as he did. He sold them all at a yard sale for $10 and he had about 35 figures. After he sold them he told me he was pissed off he did cause he wanted more money for them. He had at least $350 worth for $10.

These are so great. I also had a huge collection of these, then at some point when I turned 13 or 14, I decided I was too old for them and I got rid of them in a yard sale. I wish I could get them back, but no, they are gone forever. )-:

This is great! So many "Aw! I used to have that guy!" moments. Seeing them in the old packaging brings back so many memories of standing in the TMNT aisle of Toys R Us trying to decide which figure I wanted so many years ago. Removable belts and accessories that didn`t always fit quite right in their hands... just awesome! I used to have the April figure too. If I remember right she came with a camera that had a gun inside. :) Thanks for the vid, man. You rule!

the tmnt is based off marvels line of daredevil..they had the hand clan and daredevil went blind from a ooze that changed the turtles so on and so forth

Great video, I used to have some of those tmnt figures. I also had some of those mutants and i didn't even know they were from the ninja turtles, because i didn;t watch the cartoon. This video brings up some great memories.

Most of the TMNT toys were created just to sell more toys, they weren't actually in the cartoon. Like the turtles in other outfits and stuff. Some of them did appear in episodes though, including the samurai rabbit, the frogs with Hawaiian beach shirts, and Baxter Stockman. He's the fly character. I only have three of my original guys... Raph, Shredder, and Super Shredder.

that mc turtle was michealangelo not raph lol the raph one looked kinda like a axel rose type or rocker. wore a leather coat and a bandanna. then donatello had a mohawk and was more punk rock. and leo was egh bon jovi ish with the leather coat as well. love these vides tho. subbed ya. nothin like lookin at old awsome stuff!
