I agree the company should be licensed and carry proper insurance However I think they should also have training and certification in carpet cleaning or whatever other services they offer to their customers (upholstery cleaning, dyeing, repair, etc.)

I could not believe that a single proprietor carpet cleaner asked me why I was licensed! Gee because it is required for one if you are a legit business.
