good idea, don't F" with Mother Nature & the Ocean! If there are Undercurrants & Riptides, the Best Thing to Do is "Don't Go In those Areas" If you Do, Your Likely to Die! Unless You Wanna Die....then.....Use Your Mind for what God gave it to you for. Duh! LOL!
I suppose that this just goes to show how easily people can get into trouble in the ocean.
I've pulled a fair few out myself, often from situations that should not have been life-threatening at all. Shallow water, small waves, close to shore... people just seem to panic.
P.S. Standing on a sandbar in the "surf zone" is probably the worst thing you can do.
Generally, that's where the waves will be breaking, often with strong currents. Head sideways to deeper water and then slowly head for shore.
Gee Whiz!! You are right, do not mess with the ocean!!!! My husband and I vacationed in the same area of the Outer Banks, NC for years. We were posing for a picture and not aware a huge wave was going to eat us alive.......LOL!! Well, make a long story short......we will never turn our backs to the ocean again. We both almost lost our lives. Thanks God all was lost was my husband's swim trunks. Really scary though!!!!!!
hey I almost drowned once too, but the lifeguards in Hawaii got on their blow horn and just kept yelling at me...they were great. Thanks, Hawaii lifeguards
...and THAT'S why i broke up with my surfer-boyfriend all those years ago. too scary for me. outer banks - my brother lives in virginia beach, oh, wit, i think he moved to chesapeake - that's nearby right? i know that sounds stupid, but i'm a california girl y'know?
