for the anime list you should watch The Wallflower/Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge (it's funny) or Elfen Lied( but it's very gory) if you haven't already :)

For the anime list, check out Princess Tutu. The beginning is girly as hell, but watch the Hal Om Mig Nu AMV to it (it's not hard to find) before you start and see how amazingly EPIC it becomes.

It's only 26 episodes, with an okay first season and second season that has been dubbed "Guitar ninjas" by Internet meme, not because there are any guitars or ninjas involved, but because it's as epic as ninjas dueling with guitars.
