I got my Nike sumo 5000 today hit it and it is beast I would recommend this to a friend thanks for the bid also check out my video called Nike sumo 5000 overview for a look at it
1Luko1: The reason that he states the "5000" is for lower handicappers is because people who play golf in single digits to under par most likely work the ball left and right. For instance you have a dogleg right hole over trees. With at straight driver the only way is up and over, with a workable ball flight you can cut it in with a fade and hit the fairway rolling with the contour of the fairway. Got it?...
why is only the 5000 better for mid to low handicapers. when he says that the 5900 gives you more distance and accuracy. and its not impossible to shape a shot with the 5900, one can also even slice it with the 5900.
:( what a shame:( Im getting the 5900 sometime next week and i feel so sorry for my Frank head cover, he might not fit the head of the club :( haha. I've been doing alot of research with the, 5900 and i hope it is what it says :)
i dont care what kinda driver you have if you come over the top you are gonna slice regardless... all these companies that say their drivers are slice proff are not very truthful
I am 14 too. I have a Taylor Made '08 Burner. But, I've used my friends 5900 and I have to say, I got an extra 20-30 yards with no slice or small fade as I normally do with my burner.
I am beginner and i want to buy one of those two. I dont really care of big distances, I just want to avoid hitting trees =p. Which one is better for me? Thanks
Don't think with the 5900 your slice or hook with just disappear. I've seen guys hit with the 5900 who slice it a ton. If your looking to get better and improve, the 5000 is more workable, yet the 5900 is a touch bit more forgiving.
I personally hate the 5900 only because it almost feels that the head is gonna snap off when i drive. Otherwise, its a great for straight drives but the tour burner (which i got at a golf sale for 90 bucks!!!) can outdrive the 5900 anyday.
i have the 5900 and its really straight but not to long but still iv"e been hitting so many fairways with it so i would recommend it if you slice or hook the ball
I've owned both drivers and for me its gotta be the 5000. I'd even say its even longer then the 5900. The 5900 is meant to be the 'game improvement' driver, yet i wouldn't recommend it at all.
I got my 5900 just today and I immediately test-drived it in the driving range. I was extremely satisfied with this driver. My first 6 or more shots were off center...more to the upper toe...but I was surprised the balls just went darn straight!!! I could not get that trajectory in my previous driver hitting on the same spot. I am over 60 but I swear I gained additional 20 yds carry on this driver.
id say the 5000, i bought one today, and it says the weight is in a triangle shape at th back, pushing th force up th front causin it to go straight wherever u hit th ball on the club, i used th 5900 in a driving net and i wasnt impressed, definately the 5000 for me. X
im 14 and the nike sasquatch the really the first sasquatch driver i hit that about 300 yards or more and ive out droven a pro at my old club but i do have trouble hitting hit straight but i hit a straight shot 5 out of 10 but i also hit alot of slices someone help me should i get a sumo 5900 pr the sumo 5000
I'm 16 and I have the 5000 its by far the best driver I'v ever had. If you sometimes slice with a normal driver definatley get the 5900 way straighter but harder to work the ball. Peace Dude XD
I love it! I have the sq 5000 and i can really hit it longer and straighter. The Taylormade Tour Burner's triangular head is just ugly than the round ones, the sound is too noisy, plus its all black, how could you hit a black piece of junk?
I'm going to buy a nike driver but im not sure which one. I noticed that the square is probably better but i'm not convinced because it has a smaller face size than the 5000.
I just got the 5000 9.5 with the V2 shaft today. My club head speed averages 106 mph. This club is amazing. I hit this thing on a laser straight and far. My goal was to hit straight, not far and now after some lessons I have great distance and moreover controled shots. This club is ACE
just got my 5900 and i am hitting it 10 yards longer than my old driver on a bad hit and 30-40 yards longer on good ones and it goes straight as an arrow and i used to have problems with a slice off the tee
I will give my objective opinion, seeing i'm on staff with Nike. I was given the opportunity to use both of them. You LOSE, repeat, LOSE distance with the square. But, it does go fairly straight each time. The 5000 (which i use) is indeed harder to hit, but if you can hit it "right" it's the best club out there. But, if you have trouble with straightness, go square. If you have trouble with distance, go with round.
i do not agreee with your first decision because i think you get alot more trajectory with the round rather than the squared thats just my oppion but good review
I bought the generic version of the 5900, its a lot better than the nike 5900, its alot more quiet, and i can drive at most 310, its great, and it only cost me 119!
it really is not. when i played with it i got a pretty good shot. its a good driver for a person who would wana use it, i just didnt like how it hit the ball on contact, other wise my swing with it was good and straight

If you like to hit the ball long and straight, pick the SQ 5000
Traditional headstyle and trajectory, the SQ 5000
sourlessstine 3 years ago 2
then your picking the same driver
straight & long = 5900 , FORGIVNESS 10 WORKABILITY 2
shapeing your shot & shorter than 5900 but still long = 5000 , FORGIVENESS 6 WORKABILITY 8

Who really cares about distance if you are hitting it perfectly straight think, a 300 yard slice vs a 280 yard down the middle.
slippryfeet1 3 years ago
the 5900 will save you strokes. you don't need to hack it as much out of the fairway rough as much since it goes damn straight.
eastcoach99 3 years ago
I got the taylormade burner cuz i hit it five yards longer, worst mistake of my life i cant hit the burner straight at all go with 5000
