holy crap : | i think i know how you did that and I'm shocked. That would take my laptop which is pretty good, days to bake nevermind the rendering! gah!
I used the blender game engine to calculate the path the ball would follow when dropped on the hill. After baking the physics I then set the mesh to a soft body and the ball to deflect the mesh.

Can you expalin exactly how you did this?? This is amazing!!

How exactly did you get all this to happen?? its amazing

Cool stuff!

this is awsome! how do you make the path in the snow?
TheRobbi5 2 years ago
This would be "awesome" if you had the snow stick to the ball as it goes down... building up more and more as you go.
dawormie07 2 years ago 5
It wouldn't be hard, to do I'd think, just increase the diameter of the ball the further it travels, no physics involved in that.

@dawormie07 Jeez, people want everything don't they.

this probably seems like a dumb question, but how do you get the camera to move?
Like during the 3-d render or animation or "game" or whatever? I don't know how to control the camera.
Whomper5 2 years ago
Whomper5: You make an IPO curve, or make a curved line and tell the camera to follow it.

probably the best physics ive ever seen with snoy good job :)
zakorsumtin 3 years ago
Thanks. I think doing it by hand will still give you better results however.

Kinda seems more like sand then snow, but still cool.
Rpkist77 3 years ago
Effect is good, but make the edges pile up, also, Add some emit to that snow, it doesnt look like snow right now lol

how do you make the softbody not fall down?

Fantastic, the best snow I've ever seen done with Blender!!

I personally hate working in Blender, but I do have a healthy respect for it - and this just goes to show that it's no unfounded.

I can't seem to find the Physics tab. How do you do it?
SEspider 4 years ago
It depends on the version- look around, sorry if im no help :)

its accually called "logic" in the most recent versions. it looks like a purple pack man

Hi, I was wondering how you got the ball to follow the path? Was it constrained to a path or is there a groove made into the mesh?
aaronmb 4 years ago

Interesting use of softbodies.
NeoHumanity 4 years ago
Nice. Softbody?
oblenob 4 years ago
Cheers, and yes, it was done with soft bodies. I set the friction to ~50 and the edge spring friction to about ~10.
mbitesd 4 years ago
ok cool I would never have thought to try that but I think I will now
