this is what happens to normal antisocial people. this is not what happens to christian weston chandler. For TRUE and HONEST info about autism look up CHRISTIAN WESTON CHANDLER.
Usually the "Charlie Brown Selective-Hearing" that she spoke of happens when the individual with Aspergers/Autism doesn't want to hear the message. I do that a lot. When a persons voice pitch doesn't change and/or when I know the message isn't going to be to-the-point I often zone out and the message doesn't come in clearly.
Also I wanted to add that those with Aspergers/Autism usually can only concentrate on one thing at a time. Unless of course the subject has been mastered or has become routine.
This one-subect thinking is another reason for the Charlie-Brown hearing. It's hard to concentrate on others while concentrating on an area of interest. :)
I totally agree with HODONKAIN. Before I was diagnosed with Asperger's I used to wonder why I cannot multitask. People would say "but women are supposed to be able to do that". So I thought I was maybe less of a woman, which was also distressing. Now I can say I am a woman with Asperger's.
She explains things very well but she exhausted me out with the speed and vigour with which she talked.
Thank you so much for this video. I emailed it to my daughters kindergarten teacher to help him understand better about her Autism and Sensory issues.
This is great, very informative. Hypersensitivity can impact a persons life majourly. People need more awarness of the challenges a person with this issue faces every single day.
