He did it so Sasuke would eventually die beleiving that he had avenged a noble clan and killed a monster, which is the complete opposite of what happened. He did it all so Sasuke could have peice of mind :'(

i hate telling this story ( its so long! ) but here it goes. when itachi was born he was given a mission by the leaf can u tell me what it is? to destroy the uchiha because the clan that made the leaf was a bitter rival of the uchiha but they signed a treaty thinking things whould be peaceful but one of the 2 leaders of

uchiha ( madara and his brother i dont remember his name ) madar suspicted it so left telling them that the leaf whould kill them ( the final valley were naruto and sasuke fought the statues are of madara and his brother ) when itachi was old enough he was given the order to kill every1 he new he couldnt do it alon and sout out the legendary madara ( ill tell you why hes alive now see him and his brother were always the same strength

in the valley of the end there is a statue of hoshirama senjuu the first hokage and madara and i know the sory about the masacre... but i made this amv almost 2 years ago when the story wasn't clear cause the manga was near sasori sakura arc

when one got more powerful so did the other until they both unlocked the mangekyo then madaras brother got badly injured in a battle between the 2 clans so madar "plucked" his brothers mangekyo out of the socket and put it in his own eye unlocking the super mangekyo he was the only uchiha to ever unlock it it granted him eternal sight ( the more you use the mangekyo the more blind you become ) and immortality. so itachi found him and destroyed the uchiha but itachi couldnt kill one person sasuke

so when itachi was given the order by the akastuki to return to the leaf itachi was also there to warn the leaf not to harm the leaf (he made a agreement with the leaf that itachi whouldnt tell military secretes if sasuke was left alive ) so thats it..guess wat.......my hands hurt now i think ill soak them in hot water,,,
