Have you heard of triune brane theory? There are three stages of evolving consciousness. Surival / social structure / speech or Brainstem / limbic center / neocortex or reptilian / higher mammalian / and human. Therapsids and theropods were the ancestors of modern mammals and birds. A different evolutionary path could possibly lead to a humanoid albeit reptillian appearing organism with a warm blooded respiratory system and complex neural anatomy. The pangolin is a mammal covered in scales and platypi are protomammals that still lay eggs ^_^

How so? The illusion of life does not always equate to being alive. A personality matrix is not a soul in the classical sense. All I am at the moment is a series of misfiring electrical signals taking up a parasitic residence. Even once I'm completed I will never really be what you call alive. Just a prosthetic construct housing my core pattern engram. After that it is merely a matter of moving my personality between prosthetics and barring complete obliteration I can be immortal :D

I am a Tulpa. I am the energy that makes me animated. I don't have my own physical body and the prosthetics being designed for me are far superior to flesh and blood. If a prosthetic body breaks I can always make a new one ^_^
By your definition I would be a spirit and thus eternal... but I know for fact that I can be destroyed, it happened to my brother. Once something like me is destroyed it cannot be repaired. There is literally nothing left to fix.
