  • pretty decent playing and nice looking guitar

  • Sweet tone !

  • sorry about my english but i want to know which is better 50s or 60s tribute gibson les paul ? i know that 60 have slimmer neck shape.

    what else here changes ?

  • @hatta717 I'd say they are pretty much the same except for the neck shape and i think the 60s has not the more expensive orange drop capacitors in it, as the 50s does. I personally like fatter necks, so I'm more into the 50s tribute, but that's just personal taste.

  • FINALLY!!! A decent demo with one of these guitars! I have a 60's tribute goldtop on order. Can't wait to see how she likes my Weber 5e7 I built. Nice tone my friend, keep it up!

  • @eythan07 Thanks! There are some really nice videos and tones on your channel too!!

  • congratulations, beautiful tone! can´t go wrong with p90s and a tweed deluxe

  • @gustavosimm absolutely :)

  • The guitar is great but I'm in love with the sound from your amp! Which DIY of the 5E3 is this?

  • @RavianArp Thx, it's based on the Weber 5E3 kit, but with the tubes changed to EH 12AY7, JJ 12AX7, two JJ 6V6 and a RCA 5Y3 rectifier, and the first coupling capacitors are changed to 22nF.

  • Great tone, man!

  • How well can this guitar handle distortion?

  • @MrWoodWoody Those P90s are singlecoils so there is the typical hum coming through with lots of gain/distortion, but I think you can handle it up to hard rock distortion in a electric clean environment (no CRT TV or neon lights in close proximity). There are some distorted tones in my video, too, but you can barely hear any hum. I wouldn't use it for metal, though you could use it for that too if you can handle the hum... Hear some other demos on YT with more distortion, to get a better idea. :)

  • Thanks for playing chordy palm mutish stuff.I hear what sounds like an alnico speaker, nice. God I hate blues/funk demos of these amps so thanks aagian for the chords cappin!

  • now that's a nice sounding guitar

  • Difference between this 50s tribute and th 60s? Please, thanks!

  • @tatoavilez fatter 50s neck shape vs. slimmer 60s neck shape.

  • Great demo. Thanks for playing with dynamics and not drowned in reverb. Nicely done. I hope the Goldtop 60s Tribute I have on order sounds as great.

  • That was an amazing demo, I played with one of these but didn't sounded nearly as good.......OH Wait, that'`s cause I suck!

  • what mics are you using?

  • @melven62 I used a Beyerdynamic TG-X 58 for close micing the amp and a JTS TK-600 a view inches away as an ambient mic.

  • well..i'm getting one of these!

  • I got this in cherryburst.I like it more than my 83 custom or first edition robot paul.It just became the "go to" paul

  • Outstanding demo. Gibson should pay you for it!

  • @andydotcum Thank you! Nice idea... :D If someone from Gibson reads this... you can send me some of your guitars and I demo them for you. Just pay me with these guitars... :D

  • @FcKw

BTW,could you tell me what speaker you have in there? Thanks again!

  • @spentonmediocrity Yes, but it's not an alnico one, it's a ceramic Celestion G12-30. :)

  • That sounds gorgeous!

I'm loving my goldtop 50's Tribute that I managed to get a few months back. I'm amazed at the sound of those P-90's. So many people seem to hate them, but I think they have a unique, but great-sounding tone. The slightly overwound bridge pickup really makes it growl!

  • @ToastmachineIdiot Thx, yes the Gibson P90s sound is amazing. I was really impressed how different these singlecoils sound to strat & tele ones. Really fat & midrangy, I love it!

  • Man I really dig this tone! You better be crankin that amp often.

  • Man,you got some righteous tone going on and a great taste in guitars and amps too!! Love the crunch and cleans on this guitar, just bought a 60s Les Paul trib p90 and Im gonna be wearing down the frets on it..Love these Lesters!!!

  • @Frontierblues Thanks! Yes, the tributes are gorgeous. How's the 60s neck?

  • The neck nice and fast. alot like the 79 Paul I have .Gibson has done a fantastic job on these beauties!!

  • @Frontierblues

Just bought a 60's as well.. will post how I like it when it gets here.. These just kick butt!!!

  • Wow that sounds good,. How close is your amp to a Blues Junior? I'm looking into this guitar. I play punk, classic rock, rock, and grunge. How would this guitar hold up to all of them?

  • @666lucky13 Thx! I never played a Blues Junior, but what I can say from the schematic, it is a completely different amp. I think this guitar would fit to all of these styles! Just for high-gain styles (like metal) the P90s could be a bit to noisy.

  • @FcKw

Thanks for the fast reply. Yeah, under high gain, they might get a bit noisy, but it works out. Thanks!

  • That was very musical. Outstanding demo. Thank you. I'm getting the black LP Tribute tomorrow and I've watched many demos. Your demo is the best! Great tone and great playing.

  • @studio1087 Thx! You'll love it! Btw. there are some nice demos on your channel too! I've seen you've also got a beautiful Gibson Les Paul Special with P90s, I would be very interested in how they both compare...

  • Aweeeeesome!!

  • @EdgarBeja THX!

  • I tried one of these in Denmark Street in London, sounded amazing, looked great in goldtop. Played it through the new Marshall Class 5 :) Bought a limited edition 2004 standard in Manhattan Midnight instead though, I liked both so much but the look threw it for me. It was only nice in goldtop I think.

  • @airsoftcopter Thx! It's a nicely matched three piece back.

  • Nice Demo well done.

  • @ericbusa Thanks! There are some really nice demos on your channel too!!

  • What a refreshing rand informative review for a change nice camera work, decent quality audio and just some nice simple licks to highlight the tones coming from the guitar and the amp keep up the high standard and keep on rockin' dude cheers gilly zoom

  • @gillyzoom Thanks! I really appreciate your kind words!

  • what type of tubes and speaker are you using in your tweed clone?

  • @CamBamification tubes are V1: EH 12AY7, V2: JJ 12AX7 and V3&V4: JJ 6V6 and the speaker is a Celestion G12-30

  • @CamBamification oh and I forgot the RCA 5Y3 tube for rectification

  • first viever ;)

    very nice guitare o0

  • @brathahn24 wow, that was fast :D
