Hey homie, you know NY rap started as party music, right? Sugarhill Gang, Kid N' Play, etc... Even the legendary Big Daddy Kane often danced in his videos. The South has both deep thinking rappers with lyricism, and party rappers. It just so happens that party rappers are the biggest thing due to the majority of fans/consumers preferring party rap.
