@45Automag Yes, especially the older versions of chicom(3 pouches) can hold 30rds mags comfortably. The 20 rds mags may be too small for the big pouches.

If you look it up you may find that many US spec ops, including MACV-SOG and LRRP used captured chicom rigs with their M16s or CAR-15s especially when the 30rds mags were introduced around 1970.

they're pretty nice. I myself own a chicom for a type 63 which is a 7 pouch one that looks kinda like a sks chicom but less pouches. i'm thinking of using mine for 20 rd ak mags on my romanian ak. The greatest thing is that i paid $6 for my chicom

Quick little correction. The vinyl lined pouch is for an oil bottle and the opposite one is fir the cleaning kit. Also I've been trying to stretch my pouches but can't seem to get it to hold 2 mags, any tips? Also I'm going to get the 762tactical molle version for better versatility. AND when is the RD 54 review coming out?

These come in 3 & 4 & 6 cells

The six cell is a double 3 with a devider between fron 3 and back 3

The 6 cell is scarce as hell, even more so than the 4 cell

Awesome review, sold me on the rig, I own a 3 cell and I'm looking for a 4 cell to pair up with the Russian RD 54 rig. I found that the cleaning pouch and the oil pouch are pretty much useless to me as i require larger pouches for my shit. I'm diabetic and aside from my combat rig I also require additional pouches for shit in case of a low sugar

That is a chest rig or "chest pouch" not a "Cheecom." However, many such magazine pouches were made by the Chinese.

Ch-eye-com is a nickname given to the Chinese Communists or "Chicoms."
