@akalda1 It is widely used outside the US by special forces and other Police. On top of that, here in the US, Glock usually gives LEOs a deal on the price, so it makes the gun significantly cheaper and more obtainable.
Consider a Walther P99 for $700 new and a Glock for a discounted price of around $400. Which makes more sense to mass purchase?
I like this gun it is a little different as far as the sites go it doesnt seem to shoot the same as other guns but once u get it down it is an incredible smooth low recoil gun. I used it for IDPA & find it to be smoother then the Glock 17 once u master the sights i found it was just as accurate & maybe a little faster fire rate. Its not really an everyday carry weapon but it is a great gun
Love Mine!! I have it in 40S&W and it is light , comfortable and accurate. Takes some getting use to but the trigger pull is crisp, the action smooth and it is very reliable. My second choice for compact carry is my Sig P239 in 40 or 357Sig, it is not as comfortable but it's sweet to shoot.
Now get out and Practice and remember if you practice crap you become a Crap Master.
I own a P99QA....one of the originals all German imported. I love it! The best handgun I have ever used, and one of the most accurate. My only complaint is the brand specific accessory rail, but this was dropped for a weaver rail in the newer ones. Anyone saying they don't like the P99 has never shot one_end of story.
Like the above poster said P99 then XD but I might call it a tie. I was shooting an HK USP Tactical and when I shot the XD .45 I freaked. XD .45 is my choice for .45, light and sooo accurate. I never had tighter groups with any other handgun.
I really dont like the way Glocks shoot. The XD by Springfield is one of the best, I would take the p99 anyday over a Glock. Try them out before you buy.
Well, ones again, I have to say this video have proved that germany is famous for its great weapon manufacturer, not its two-decays-delayed commercials.
I wonder if it can be possible to have a P99 9mm 16 rounds in Canada since weapon enforcement is very strict... with the walther accessory suppressor and tac rail would be so nice, XD9 or G17-G21 would be too... Not as pricey as a Deagle 50AE (my favorite...)
great gun, i have a vid up of me shooting my p99 but god this video is so freaking cheesy and stupid, you would not shoot their gun you would shoot them!
Well, as far as polymer pistols go, you just about hit the nail on the head. Hell, with the exception of SigSauer, the Springfield XD and the M1911-A1, Germany has the entire handgun market cornered.
try it, i did, dont fuck with like liquid nitrogen though, i did mine on accident, some snow got in it ( i like in new york ) and it melted, and refroze, and i didnt know about it, cause a lot of it was on the inside. so i took it out, i shot, and it jarred back, and ice shards flew from the sides and ice powder shot out of the barrel, it was pretty neat
I own a Glock 34, Springfield XD 45, Beretta 96, Sig Sauer 220, Sig Sauer 239, Two HK Usp Tactical 45's and 3 Walther p99's to name a few. Of all the pistols I own, I can say without hesitation the p99 is my prefered weapon. The only think I dident like was that the 1st & 2rd generations dident not have weaver tac rail, but new models do.
Really you like it more than the USP? I am going to get either this or a USP. Which is better? I thought for sure the HK was a little bit better. Off course it is also about $250-300 more than the Walther.
The Walther is a great little gun, fun to shoot too. The HK is a pure fighting gun meant to KILL KILL KILL and keep on running. I strongly reccomend the HK USP in .45 ACP. Anything less is.... well.... something less.
All pistols are designed to throw lead, and both the HK and Walther are great pistols. The major differences besides user, are how they firer, and end user preference. Also take some time and go check on your 45vsXXcal/mm information. You might find there is little difference in HP ammo.
Sigh... Glocks do NOT have a tenifer frame. Seriuosly, do some easy research before making statements like that. Tenifer is a metal treatment process, applied to the slide and barrel; not only Glock uses it. It's also used by Walther, S&W, and others.
The Glock frame is made of a nylon polymer, reinforced with metal in various places. It's not a tenifer frame.
1911 is the "ideal" handgun, the p99 is the underdog calling out the reigning champion...I don't know man, its a silly promo video, stop critiqueing it like its some oscar nominated movie!
very nioe video, but unfortunately the gun has a weakness, i have bought 1st generation p99 9mm and the new p99 40 cal. and from my experience their firing pin easily breaks when you accidentally dry fire the gun, sa mga bro ko sa pinas, para sa akin hindi worth it and sakit ng ulo pag nabali ang firing pin, mahal yan at lumang stock, kun mayron man bka luma mabigay sa inyo, pano nyo malaman....d kinakalawang
I'd go with the QA(Quick Action), one of the biggest complaints with the p99 is the extremely long trigger pull, QA reduces that down to 5 lb vs. 11 lb
@phant0 yeha, i wonder what kind of robot can do that under an stress condition. i would put 3 or four rounds on that guy as fast as i could, and i think most porfesional users would too.
I don't understand the horrified responses, i guess it's kind of stupid, but the slow motion high speed is fantastic, there is worse "shiat" out there

Fabrique National Five-Seven by far the best

Yup, but the price tag is hefty!

five seven is worth it though; no recoil, 3 - 20 rd mags, penetrates class II body armor, weighs literally nothing, tough, reliable.

ALL walthers are made in Germany. Smith & Wesson simply imports them to the US and handles the warranty/service here.

Yes they are all made in Germany. However Smith and Wesson makes some guns that are identical to the Walthers but they just put their S&W logo on it.
