I like both versions for different reasons. The Declan version has better instrumentation and his voice has a beautiful tone and gives the song a note of hope. However, the America version has my memories of childhood attached to it, and the resonant tone of Gerry Beckley's voice gives the song a pure, unsynthesized quality. The song is an amazing song in its own right, and both singers do it justice.

This was requested to be played a a client's funeral. Her grandmother must have been a very special lady for her kin to want this played for her, can you imagine someone thinking of you as a unicorn, still living happily forever? Even after you're gone?...Makes me want to cry it's just a sweet idea. I think I want this played at my funeral someday too.
