The state that he was murdered him didn't want to give his corpse to the family because of how graphic it was...They tied him, with barbed wire, to some sort of barn fan and beat him beyond recondition. They then took one single shot at him through his forehead...All because he said "Hey baby" to the lady store clerk, but up north, where he was from, that was okay. He didn't know any better and he was only 14...

If you listen closely at :54 Emmit's uncle recounts that this white man said "I wants the boy that done all that talk" To my knowledge, Emmit never said a word to that woman, He allegedly just whistled at her. So this indicates to me that someone lied (probably the woman herself) and was trying to provoke a reaction.
