@nobusan84 no, I was attending Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Prescott, AZ campus) hence my name ERAU-PRC WA... which the WA stands for Washington State, which is where I live (though not at the moment)
One time I flew Alaska from Cabo to San Diego and they charged me 20$ for the luggage. I don't get it. Can someone tell me why Alaska charges you for your luggage?
@caillou1718 Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air do charge for luggage it's a fee of $20-25 for the second checked back and then the prices go up after that. This was enacted back in 2008. Almost all US carriers have a baggage fee to counteract the severe recession, fuel increases, and passenger load that has fallen since 911.
@caillou1718 basically all airlines are doing it to make up for lost cost in revenue due to fuel and suffering economy. Even a full flight from A to B can still lose money, charging for luggage is a way to counteract that. Most people don't understand how much the airlines are suffering but if you see REALLY cheap tickets, that means the airline is desperate. Alaska Air charges for the 2nd checked bag, not the first.
@chalk777 Yea, a 63 year old AS pilot is making flight sim videos and videos of his home-made "airplane food cart". Sounds more like a 15 year old armchair wannabe.
your page says your 31... with the current standings in the airline industry there is NO possible way you're a senior pilot for Alaska Airlines also your video which I assume is you makes you look younger than the age on your page so I'm guessing, no you're not... nice try:-/
what are you talking about? This is Alaska Airlines they have 737-400s, 700s, 800s, and 900s. they recently just retired the MD-80 and the 737-200 over a year ago. I think you might have the airlines confused.
Wish I could've recorded longer, but my batter had died shortly after this video. If my camera was working I wouldve had a good video with takeoff with a UA 737-500 landing as we were taking off and a pretty good pattern approach in Phoenix if I could've recorded
@AaronzChannel that's what I was saying... "this" year referring to 2008 when I recorded the video... I uploaded the video on January 10th, 2008

@AaronzChannel yeah, this was the last time I saw the MD-80s in operation... I believe it was this year that they retired them all from the fleet
