Well, its basically the same as pluggin a microphone into your computer. Then to get various effects like distortion etc you need to download a Guitar Amp VST of some king.

As that is said the guitar in this song is not a real one. Its Steinberg Virtual Guitar Electric Edition.

@MechanicaIGarden well actually that is true, it branches off of true punk, you would say it is more Pop-Punk, but that is just another style of punk. Plus, this doesn't sound like a thing to Rise Against so thats where I got my opinion from

Well they are put into the Genre "pop punk" due to labeling. fact of the matter is that there is no such thing as Pop Punk because being Pop (popular Culture) isnt Punk at all. hence why Punk music is so misunderstood and why true punk hate hearing Blink 182 is labeled punk giving the genre Punk an over all Image that was not intended.
