How was your first experience with shaving using a DE? I have been giving it a go for about a week right now but my skin is getting really irritated by the single blade. I feel my technique and prep are good but i'm still wating for that eureka! moment.
@SpitfireK5054 It was simply okay. If your getting irritation, I'd take a very wild guess that it's a combo of angle and pressure. Cartridge shaving introduces a lot of muscle memory that is analogous to bad shaving habits when using a DE. Also, if you're not used to lathering a soap or cream, there may be a deficiency in that department as well that just kind of adds up.
If you're getting irritation, there's a few things you could try. Stop ATG, get an alum block and/or a diff. razor.
@pottsdavid Dave, I'm having trouble replying with a link in the comments here. If you search for The BiG Shave in the search bar at the top of FB, you should find it quite handily. Here's the portion of the URL after dot com.
@SmokedTails For some reason when I would do a search it came up with everything but the group I was looking for. Found it with the info you posted here and request for joining sent. I can relax and go shave now. : ) Thanks, Dave
I also recently bought the sandalwood soap, balm and eau de toilette from Crabtree & Evelyn. Their U.S. headquarters is about 15 minutes away from where I live and there's an outlet store not far from it, I haven't tried any of the stuff yet, but I'm going to break out the soap this morning and give it a go.
hello tim, pretty nice stash you got going there , the tye rack is a great idea if you dont mind im gonna utilize it my self, thanks for the videos and best regards from michigan,

I borrowed the idea from someone on B&B anyway. His tie rack was far nicer though. Cheers, John.
