@alm0sthere I absolutely love it! this is my first truck, and will be my only truck. I don't ever plan to get rid of it because I believe this is the best generation truck GM has ever built. I guarantee you will love to drive it.
@Itzhopeless21 Yeah I figured I talked to a few people about it already. Turns out I was going to buy the truck tomorrow and he sold it today...so I guess asking everyone these questions was pointless.
@alm0sthere Its not pointless, at least now you have some positive feedback about this generation truck. Trust me, the right truck will come along at the right time. Its just a feeling that you know will be right. Good luck on the hunt.
@Itzhopeless21 Yeah man thanks. Well right now I'm 16 and I just need a truck cause my dad keeps bitching about me always wanting to go some where and he has an 02 ram 5.9L he thinks he spends $20 bucks every time we go to get gas or food. He gets about 11mpg city, and also I can't wait for another one of these because my dads pulling a shit load of money from his retirement or something and he'd pay half of the price of a truck if i can find one that i want. I have to find a truck within 2 wks.
@dirtbikerman1234 it is called Indigo Blue Metallic. It's a very hard to find color on these style trucks and I think its the best looking color for these trucks. If you were wondering the color code for it is WA9792.
@Itzhopeless21 it really is a nice color, makes me glad i just put a depoist on a 97 k2500, a day ago, it has a 6" pro comp lift, 3" body lift, 35" nitto tires, and true dual magnaflows with no cats!
@NDD2468 makeing it a true duel it WELL worth the money i did my 97 sierra and it nice:P, i notice your comment is 7 months old, did u ever duel it out?
Still having the original tranny isn't bad as long as its not making a grinding noise, ha ha. That's what mine did and I got it replaced I think about 2 years ago. It turned out to be the torque converter's bearings just being worn out, but all the gears shifted fine. As for the L.E.D.'s you could probably pull it off, but it's up to you, ha ha. You actually can't see it in this vid, but I have an L.E.D. cab light as well. I have a link to my car domain page in the info if you want to look at it
Thanks man, i appreciate it. I do everything I can to keep my old girl running good. It's great to here another K1500 running excellent on the road. I sometimes still can't get over the fact that my truck now has about 235,000 miles and runs as smooth as glass, ha ha. The only real engine work that's been done is the heads have been replace but that's it everything else is original from 1998.
I think we have had it for almost 9 years now. My dad had it before he gave it to me and got the maroon 2000 that is next to mine. I have had it since I was 16 and I'm 20 now. Nice thing is I just rolled over 230000 miles and it's still the original motor. Had to get a new tranny cuz the torque converter was badly worn it was grinding the bearings inside. All I can say is if you take care of these older chevy's they will last forever.
surprisingly i didn't have a K&N intake on in this vid. i had a smaller intake on from airaid in this one. if u look at my newest vid of my exhaust that has the K&N intake on it.
yah, at least that's what i think they are. i was never told what model mufflers they were its just a good friend of mine had installed them. i just asked for true dual, dual chamber mufflers. i would say to check out flowmaster's website to see what type of muffler it really is.
to tell u the truth i have never known the model number to those mufflers. i have a good friend of mine who did them for me and all i asked was to put on true dual flowmaster dual-chamber mufflers. i would say ask around to some muffler shops to see if they know what that is.
i had actually gotten them from summit racing, but u can get some just like them from stylin' trucks. they are made by Anzo USA. reason i haven't commented back is that for some reason it wouldn't let me post for a while.
i have true dual 40 series mufflers and i just recently put up a new vid with pics of my front lights and basic all-around pics of my truck don't have anymore with my taillights just the ones from the vid. have u had any problems with ur hitch light not working? mine completely died except for the running light.
yah, that's the funny thing. my l.e.d. rear taillights and third brake light as well as the hitch light is all made by the same company; pilot automotive. and i've had problems with everyone of them. rear taillights had the flash regulator died on my drivers side one so i needed a new flasher, my third brake light had to be rigged to work (so much for plug and play, ha ha) and then my third brake light l.e.d.'s died.
the led tailights ran me about $300 and i got them from summit racing. i also have an led third brake light as well so i have a full led conversion in the back and don't have to worry about blown bulbs, ha ha.
i've never really know the series on it i know a good friend of mine who's a mechanic that put them on for me. never really thought of asking what series.
