  • wow I could have fixed that..

  • oh my god thats old..

such a shame to see it in that condition..

I bet it was once a fine machine..

To bad it couldn't be restored.. : (

  • Wow, one of Maytags very first electronic control moisture sensing dryers. These dryers were built like tanks and lasted 40+ years with only a belt change.

The DE701 model was made from 1961-1964. I actually have this very model in near mint condition. Do you have any spare parts left for it?

  • hmm interesting.. no I don't have any parts from it I scraped all the metal and the rest was thrown out

  • Looks like an old Maytag DG series dryer. They were all about the same from the 60's to the 90's.

  • Actually, the Halo of Heat design began in '53 and ended in early '75. The big load dryers debuted from '75 until 2006, when Whirlcrap took over Maytag :(

  • Actually dude the Halo of Heat Dryer was the SECOOND design of Maytag dryer....it came out in 1958 when and coincided with the discontinuation of the AMP style washers and the introduction of Helical Drive models. You were correct when you said the HOH dryers were replaced by the Big Load Dryer but that was in 1976. I have actually seen a couple of HOH Dryers with gold trimmed control panels and Maytag switched from turqouise to gold trim in 1975.

  • how old is it?
