Check out 'Black Widow' from album 'Swords In Abusers' - '...Black Widow vengance comes, Death our crede with Angels love, masked man watching tears of hate, we love to death, the bites we make.' free at wolfchilde
YO, I have been a fan of HAWKWIND since 1976! I live in New Jersey.
This band was the inspiration for soooo many sci fi and fantasy books and games! But yeah most in the US missed these guys, probably becaues of Pink Flyod
great line up great days and even went to see huw with his own band in newport south wales around this time ,saw him at hawkwinds 40 party in porchester hall ,looks a tad older but still entertained us . saw hawkwind for the fourteenth time 2 weeks ago and they put on a superb performance ,and alan davey was amazing at the sonic solstice fest in builth wells this year
I saw this on TV at the time. Can't remember the name of the show, but I think it went out on a Friday. They also played the Bob Calvert song "The Right Stuff".
You Brits are lucky as hell to have had the Hawks touring the UK so heavily for the last 40 years! I lost thousands of LPs in a fire in '86 and haven't been able to replace many on CD. One of my few regrets in life---never seeing them in concert---especially around 1980. Levitation and Live '79 are full of great music and I'd give my left nut to find them on CD!
wow this takes me back in time,my 1st hawkwind gig was 1979 the live album they did.but i think they lost the plot a few years later.thank fk 4 lemmy+MOTORHEAD they still rock it
Excellent stuff, haven't seen this since it was on originally. This was just about when I got into HW so I have a lot of affection for this lineup. They weren't the same without Huw, even though he only had one solo!
If you people think this is good, then you need to check out all their other stuff...this is NOT one of their better songs! Too pop and repititous...check out Hall of the Mountain Grill and get enlightened.
The show was called ect. This a great version of classic Hawkwind track.Hawkwind were never the same after Huw Lloyd Langton left. The line up they had for The Chronicle tour was the last great Hawkwind line up.
Super sound, znakomity kawałek, świetny rif, głos Dave'a Brocka jest głęboki i przejmujacy, zdecydowanie częściej powinien śpiewać, zamiast angażować przeważnie miernych wokalistów.
Amazing performance. I just love Huwey's twiddley lead work. Nice to see a live footage with Clive Deamer on drums. Must have been in late 1984 or early 1985, when Alan Davey had joined and Clive was still in the band.
Not sure about repeating it. Most of the bands on it were SHITE! Tobruk, Magnum, Venom, Heavy Pettin to name but a few. I've got most of this show on VHS somewhere in the attic. Hawkwind were by far the highlight for me, at a time when I'd just discovered them....and the Hawkwind lifestyle! ;-)
Yep it was ECT they did The Right Stuff with Dave saying he smoked the right stuff, Doctor and the Medics did a cover of Silver machine on the same show

Fuckin' hell mate, come to think of it, I actually think they have been on tour perpetually for the whole 40years! Hardest working Hippys
in the business. Except for maybe Julian Cope. (And I think he just makes it look hard sometimes)

I hadn't seen it until today, it's on John from Chaos Illuminations' page.
Top vid, very impressed, the band were on top form here.
Huwy is wailing again now btw.
