This band was the inspiration for soooo many sci fi and fantasy books and games! But yeah most in the US missed these guys, probably becaues of Pink Flyod

great line up great days and even went to see huw with his own band in newport south wales around this time ,saw him at hawkwinds 40 party in porchester hall ,looks a tad older but still entertained us . saw hawkwind for the fourteenth time 2 weeks ago and they put on a superb performance ,and alan davey was amazing at the sonic solstice fest in builth wells this year

You Brits are lucky as hell to have had the Hawks touring the UK so heavily for the last 40 years! I lost thousands of LPs in a fire in '86 and haven't been able to replace many on CD. One of my few regrets in life---never seeing them in concert---especially around 1980. Levitation and Live '79 are full of great music and I'd give my left nut to find them on CD!

Excellent stuff, haven't seen this since it was on originally. This was just about when I got into HW so I have a lot of affection for this lineup. They weren't the same without Huw, even though he only had one solo!

The show was called ect.This a great version of classic Hawkwind track.Hawkwind were never the same after Huw Lloyd Langton left.The line up they had for The Chronicle tour was the last great Hawkwind line up.

Amazing performance. I just love Huwey's twiddley lead work. Nice to see a live footage with Clive Deamer on drums. Must have been in late 1984 or early 1985, when Alan Davey had joined and Clive was still in the band.

Forgot to mensh...it was ECT, broadcast on Channel 4 early evening (5.30ish) on Friday nights, presumably when the Tube was 'out of season'?

Not sure about repeating it. Most of the bands on it were SHITE! Tobruk, Magnum, Venom, Heavy Pettin to name but a few. I've got most of this show on VHS somewhere in the attic. Hawkwind were by far the highlight for me, at a time when I'd just discovered them....and the Hawkwind lifestyle! ;-)
