i heard the 'unlimited expansion' with the SD card has a catch to it. according to customer ratings, it seems pretty significant of a problem..maybe false advertising...but hey,4,000 songs is enough for me so its not like i'll use the sd too much. i dont mind storage on the reg pc.

Can anyone please tell me if the ZEN can play 400 kbps AACs (or Mp4s) because all of my music files are that bitrate, while the iPod plays only 320 kbps max.

no probs :) if u want put videos on the card, plug the player and the sd card to their own plugins, convert the video with program on the driver cd and put on the video to the card :P

All of Creative products are for "multimedia" not for music. It's good for audiobooks, watching ultra-lossy movies with low framerate...

To sum up it's a bit of tv, music player and radio, yet being none of them, but exeggerated by marketing...

i have downloaded some open source (free) converting software called iriverter - its a brill little program i make sure all my vids have passed through this before they go onto my zen, the convertor:

1.makes them the right size for then zen's (saves space)

2. Converts the files so they are always playable.

Im not sure if this will help ur upside down problem but you could give it a go!

have you tried the reset button? mine wouldn't turn on all of a sudden and computer wouldn't recognize either and i hit the reset button and turned on, nothing erased

Yeh i did that an it didn't work. I held it in 4 about a minute as well. I ws nt happy. Ive returned it now and got a 30GB archos 604. Not one of the latest but far betta then this zen. I recomend the archos!

I am torn between the two also, especially since the new m6 is thinner, smaller, and cheaper. The sd card slot is making me lean towards the zen. There is also a m7 w/ touchscreen coming out that seems interesting (cough... ipod touch/ iphone rip off cough....) for the same price as the m6. I think ill wait a month or so before deciding but the sd slot nearly has me sold.
