Rascal Flatts is NOT the original artist. It was co-written by Marcus Hummon and members of the country music group Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1994. Gotta love the way Carrie does it though.
American Idol winners are always good singers. They have no auto-tuning to make them good, they preform live and truly have to BE good. Carrie is a great example.

I don't know... is it just me or the American Idol singer for the past few years are not successful. And the show... You can't really see a great competition. I think Kelly's year to Carrie were the greatest. From then on... Idk... I want to see more of those years again.
I think this is one of the best performance in American Idol throughout the eight seasons. Though this song is not a very difficult song nor does it require powerful vocal, it was sung vocally beautifully and most importantly Carrie really brought the lyrics out its best.

She has a lot of great songs, but there's something about the way she sings this song, the emotion she puts into it and the sound of her voice just go so well with it.
Her voice is so amazing. I'm not as crazy about her now as I was when she was on Idol, but she will always be my all time favorite contestant. Just listen to her at 58 seconds.

Her voice is so amazing. I'm not as crazy about her now as I was when she was on Idol, but she will always be my all time favorite contestant. Just listen to her at 58 seconds.
